Anyone know any good "what legion are you?" questionnaires?

So I was just wondering whether anyone knew of any good questionnaires, I've found some but a lot of them are very simple and pretty evident in the way you're going to go since the questions are so obvious.

None of the ones I've seen (and I've spent hours searching through as many as I could find) are any good - all of them allow too much choice in the outcome (as you alluded, the survey takers will readily identify the outcomes of the choices they make and will pick the options that suit their preferences rather than providing honest feedback). The same goes for pretty much all of the "what Chapter are you," "what primarch are you," and "what Space Marine character are you" surveys that I've seen.

The same is true about 99% of all of these fanmade questionnaires. The average fan is not a shrink.

I used this forum, haha. I told them what I liked, and people made their cases. I would wager that the community here is more accurate in helping you choose a legion that fits over a quiz.

This is the best test I have seen, that's not saying much really. Edit took it again and got corax 2 years too late.

I don't normally like these tests, but I saw this on /tg/ a while back, you have to do it manually but it tells you what primarch you are like. It is possible to get ties though. Being rational I got guilliman much to my disgust.

It was rather amusing while it lasted. None of its quizzes were the end all, be all, but fun. You'll have to hunt through it all to find all of the links.

I got Jaghatai Khan, which was quite a nice surprise; I never thought he would have even been a contender. Guess that settles what my second Heresy army will be

I just took the quiz here. I got Guilliman and Corax (both with 13 answers), Vulkan and Sanguinius were tied for second.

 

I was not expecting that many ties. Even third place was tied.

Somehow tied between Lemen Russ and Konrad Curze. Considering my thoughts on space wolves I might have to look into the Night Lords a bit. At least on a happy note Johnson and Guilliman were on the low end. Sadly so was Dorn, my templar minis might not be happy about that.

Vulkan got the least, which made me sad. Apparently I am not a bro. I am more the barbaric and charismatic, go for the throat, damn the consequences and lead from the front general, I guess.

 

Maybe that is why I can't ever choose any one Legion or Primarch as my favorite, when they all have a little bit of me.

Just an honest question: do you guys even know that much about Guilliman or is it just an instinctive dislike without even giving the character a chance?

 

I'm not biased or anything despite my avatar, I honestly don't dislike any major characters and don't get the rabid hate.

Just so we don't rehash the thread from the Ultramarines subforum, I'm hoping someone articulates their dislike of Guilliman for you with enough citations and cross-references to satisfy (as if). Not going to be me though, as I've got no problem with him.

I feel similarly. While I've got clear favorites (Blood Angels, Chaos, Sisters of Battle), no faction commits such infraction against me that it gains no traction with my sense of attraction. My cup floweth over for 40k... it's just that some authors don't do as well with the source material as others (and hence I try to frame my beefs in context with them, not the faction itself).

I don't have some deep seated hatred of Guilliman or anything, at least not because of who he is. My dislike is of the Ultramarines, and partially the Codex Astartes, (I'm a Templar at heart,) both of which are his. So it is less the man and more the legacy he left behind. If I did this test and found out I was actually an ultramarine at heart it would upset me because I strongly dislike even the idea of playing that chapter. I only did this to come up with ideas of what to do for a heresy army.

But Ultramarines are no longer the poster boys, and haven't been for years. They were also not nearly a significant player at the forefront of the Heresy, and were certainly never on a pedestal. The large amount of legionnaires they retained played a part, but they were successfully sidelined by Horus, conquered less planets than the Luna Wolves, were not present during the Battle for Terra, etc.

 

It's responses like these that really make me question the objective nature of the Ultramarines dislike. How would you feel if I said I hated your favorite faction's guts. And when you ask why I just said "just because" or made up some ridiculous nonsense to justify it?
