Anyone know any good "what legion are you?" questionnaires?

Really.

So, what's the Raven Guard's inherent flaw? Or the Salamanders?

Nuking a planet as an ultimatum comes to mind.

In that case, Monarchia. The Ultramarines now have an inherent flaw, all is well.

Not that it's remotely close, the good guy ultramarine evac'd the place. It's not like the Emperor wasn't there to order it either.

I somehow ended up with Horus (a whopping 15 choices for him) and then a tie between Corax/Lorgar/Sanguinius... That said a couple of those choices I picked more than one answer - Q6 I chose all 3 (A, B & C), Q9 I picked B & C and Q13 I chose A & B...

How would you feel if I said I hated your favorite faction's guts. And when you ask why I just said "just because" or made up some ridiculous nonsense to justify it?

I would think that the opinions of others aren't my problem...? Sure, I might argue against the particulars of their dislike, but if they're going to cling to it against all reason, it's not like my heart will be broken over it.

Yes, the Ultramarines performed

a "good guy" planetary bombardment, which was so nice and friendly that the Word Bearers found a whole SEVEN survivors left when they made planetfall (The First Heretic, page 157).

The people of that world should be thankful that it was the stodgy Ultramarines nuking their world in a boring way, and not a Legion with inherent flaws like the Raven Guard being unable to tan or the Salamanders tanning too much.

Saga of the Weregelt for the RG.

Dunno about the sallies.

Anyhow, my results were:

Konrad Curze for first place (13).

Shared second place between Leman Russ, Jaghatai Khan and Sanguinius (11).

Lion El'Johnson scored only 7 for me.

Guess I got a bit of a wild/psychotic streak in me.

Not anymore. As of Deliverance Lost the Weregelt happened because of the Alpha Legion, not anything Corax did or didn't do.

"Thanks", Gav.

Not having a unique flaw or wild trait is what makes the Ultramarines one of the coolest armies.

When every single named chapter in the game has some sort of unique "cool" trait/flaw/style, they start to lose the cool factor. Back in 2nd when there was the wolves, and the BA and Dark Angels had a couple of different companies to the standard chapter it was cool. Now when somebody says "My Chapter is the best because they are so dark and unique" I tell them to go join the rest of the one of a kinds.

It's kind of like all of those kids who dress as goths/emos/vampires etc to be unique, then go hang out with 50 other people exactly the same. Thata what the codex divergent chapters are.

Despite the UM supposedly being the blueprint chapter, they are probably the most unique. No crazy back story. No strange mutations or special units. Just a bunch of super soldiers who aim to be the best, and do their job well.

I find it disappointing that people are bringing their 40K hate of Ultramarines and Guilliman into 30K.

Just an honest question: do you guys even know that much about Guilliman or is it just an instinctive dislike without even giving the character a chance?

I'm not biased or anything despite my avatar, I honestly don't dislike any major characters and don't get the rabid hate.

Some people dislike tau, some dislike Leman Russ (including myself), some dislike Rouboute. Rouboute is a boring-ish character who gets a lot of unnecessary screen time in the HH. Leman Russ is "That doesn't apply to me!" Primarch and legion both. I dislike both pretty heavily.

Or in other words: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheyChangedItNowItSucks

Rouboute is a boring-ish character who gets a lot of unnecessary screen time in the HH.

Think I've yet to encounter him.

Then again, I'm only up to Thousand Sons.

*hiss* No! You fool! You'll doom us all! Link not to... that place!

*the sound of a thousand hours being sucked into a black hole moans from the link to TVTropes*

But yes. I liked the old background, and they changed it for no apparent purpose with no regard for the effects on people's current armies and perceptions of the background. The good news is, that doesn't necessarily invalidate what they overturned. The bad news is, I must now channel Syndrome.

And yet in the process displayed unquestioning obedience in the face of being ordered to commit an atrocity.

That makes most other legions pale in comparison.

Guilliman and the Ultramarines are one of the more misunderstood and irrationally disliked elements of 40K. The problem is that the Ultramarines don't have some ridiculously overplayed trope like other factions, so the subtlety is lost on a lot of people. They're perhaps slightly less grimdark than the rest of the setting, but not significantly so. Not everything has to be dialed up to 11.

Hmmm... I got Guilliman. ermm.gif

Corax and Lorgar were joint second, so I might pretend to be either of those two instead. tongue.png

You get the greatest general of the primarchs, and you choose the weirdo or the emo whiner with daddy issues? msn-wink.gif
