No Foes Remain
Why are people against Chapter Names being in High Gothic/Latin? Is it just that apart from the Carcharodons no other Chapter has that type of name? Which some people seem to be against the remake of their background as well. So what is the problem with people not being in favour of a Latin chapter name? Note: I'm not creating a Chapter with a Latin name, its just a question. Regards, Ventris. Sanguine_Knight
That's a good question. I would like to know the answer. Some names I think would be over the top, but others such as the Carcharodons aren't that bad. Also I like the new fluff about the Carcharodons. XKhalilX
its just something that isnt done really. dont know why but outside the space sharks (i still like calling them that over some pretentious latin name) no one has it. i think it would personally sound awful with all these latinized names running around. secondly, the laypeople of the Imperium dont speak high gothic, only low. Perhaps the High Gothic names are their official designation within the High Lords of Terra, but even then its doubtful. it would be as if the US or UK named all their departments or military troops with latinized names. No one would understand what the heck is what.
