Fibonacci
So when is the next painting challenge? I'm thinking about repainting and changing to either Order of the Sacred Rose -- white armor, black robes with red lining, red weapons -- with red accents on the armor and possibly giving them all red hair as well. Dread
Usually starts around April and ends in August. Capt. Semper usually runs it and does a great job with it. I would like to see your sisters as you work on them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286910-changing-orders/#findComment-3596118 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
ETL III is coming soon Fib, I can tell you that from my conversations with Captain Semper It might even have expanded rules for the Escalation stuff and perhaps even a formalised victory/penance vow system maybe? Who knows! The important thing is the models though so make sure you have plenty to paint and clear your calendar for glory The Sisters forum last time failed the God Emperor, my visits to try and encourage everyone only had my voice echoing across an empty cathedral... There is much atonement to be made, such that those participating should probably call themselves the Repentia! The smaller factions might not have a chance at winning even when rolled together, but we can at least aim for a high completion rate Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286910-changing-orders/#findComment-3596142 Share on other sites
Dread
Yup, I did GK last time and tried to get everyone fired up too! This year however, GK won't be part of this since they are now a chapter for the SM, hmm? So I have a bunch of sisters to paint this time around and hope we have a strong showing. Fibonacci
Last year I had a 10 day work project followed by a 2 week family vacation right in the middle of the challange which made it hard plan any sort of vow :( I still think the points should be based on the cash value of the models :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286910-changing-orders/#findComment-3596337 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Would that include things like when it was bought and currency values? Points values is fair enough, just be thankful you're not painting up lots of Guardsmen worth a pittance :P Last year the amount of free time I had was all over the place so I made smaller vows and attacked them whenever I could. I don't see any reason why multiple vows won't be allowed again so you can just break your models up into batches :) Better to paint a few models less than fail in your duty to forum and Emperor! Vigrid Of Asgaror
I was the only one to complete my vow, my sisters were oh so lonely. Hopefully this year they will have plenty to join them. I have literally saved the painting of my Adepta Sororitas for this, I hope to get my whole force done. WarriorFish
That's what we like to hear! :D Hopefully we can get a good completion rate across our allied sections to show them that while we may be small in number our faith and resolve has no equal! Dread
It's okay Miko. I know you had a bad year last year but this year is going to be so great for you, I feel it. Good to hear from you always. (Didn't mean it to sound mushy, just as a friend) Looking forward to seeing your models. Vigrid Of Asgaror
Yeah, it seems everyone who had personal things come up stopping them from being able to complete their vows. Even I did, I finished the vow on the last week or so. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286910-changing-orders/#findComment-3597054 Share on other sites
Naminé
I will be painting my Repentia as penance for last year. Maybe a cannonness too :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286910-changing-orders/#findComment-3597055 Share on other sites
Vigrid Of Asgaror
Hopefully we get quite the turn out this year. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286910-changing-orders/#findComment-3597076 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
That would be nice, but the important bit is completions and not just because we can never compete with numbers! A single failed vow invalidates your previous ones, so remember that the job is very much worth dying for - all or nothing! Death or glory! I've long since promised my brush to the Guard forum for this year, but I'll keep myself unaligned for ETL IV - maybe we'll have some new toys by then? It could happen... jacqualine47
Where can I find more info on how this works - I've never participated before and am in the process of repainting an apoc size sisters army. Also, I'm doing up an armoured battle company as Sisters (converting sicaran battle tanks into SoB Leman Russes) to run as counts as allies... will those count as Sisters or Guard? Fibonacci
Here is a link to last year's http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/275448-e-tenebrae-lux-ii-sisters-of-battle-strategium/ The details may change but the basic rules should stay the same. WarriorFish
The rules can potentially change, so there's no guarantee ETL III will be the same to last year's but the general core is: - declare an army/faction (no changes allowed) - make a vow of legal units from appropriate codex, listing total points values (accordingly to B&C rules) - post pictures of before painting (no more than basic undercoating) - post pictures of completed models - up to 5 vows per member, one vow at a time - failure to complete a vow by the deadline voids all your contributions! It's pretty simple, and I don't imagine the rules will change too much for this year :) The more vows and points you complete the better as it raises the totals for your faction but all it takes is missing the deadline for it all to be for nothing... Best thing is to wait for Semper to declare the new ETL III and go from there, I asked a few questions last year he's very nice and helpful :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286910-changing-orders/#findComment-3598042 Share on other sites
