inquisitor kit bash

so im making several inquisitors for fun.

two are witch hunters. one will be a pariah thr other a psyker.

for pariah i wanted some armour OR a trenchcoat like torso and legs.

are all the arms legs torso and head bits between imperial guard space marine scouts compatible in the sense of their dimensions? meaning the arms dont look so big or torso too small?

secondly, what about the compatibility of IG with space marine bits?

and lastly, what anout third party bits. any reccomendations on some ideas? i checked maxmini and anvil imdustries already but lookin for other options as well.

im having hard time find trenchcoat characters.

i did find bits for something called apocalypse survivors. are these GW affiliated pieces? i ask because the trenchcoat torso are grest but i wamt to know if theyll fit with IG and soace marine and scout bits

For GW parts that could be used for trenchcoats, I can only suggest the following:

WHFB Empire Militia/Free Company - the one at the end in this picture.

It looks like this.

If you use a set of IG Cadian legs and IG Cadian arms with shoulder guards, you can then add GS collar, cuffs and lapels (and side pockets if you wish - I did). A head of your choice, -][- insignia, purity seals, book,  etc and weapons of your choice. I used a powersword and made an inferno pistol from a Militia/Free Company pistol -

I added a flamer/hand flamer muzzle and flamer fuel bottle in front of the trigger.

Other GW parts which might work:

- Trenchcoat legs from the IG Cadian Command Squad;

- Trenchcoat body from the Baneblade kit:

- Forgeworld Cadian Commander:

- WHFB Empire Volley Gunner body:

- Empire Archer bodies:

- Empire Celestial Hurricanum Accolyte legs:

With regards to the compatibility of IG and SM scouts, these parts are easily interchangeable. Most SM parts can be used but check before gluing!

As for alternative manufacturers, I would look at the following:

Check around these sites for other bitz that might be useful.

The Apocolypse Survivors are manufactured by Wargames Factory, not GW. They are more slender than GW figures but might work.

seleucus thanks for the aweaomw reply. i feel like alot the poses are so static with the WHF figures.

i think im gonna buy cadian stormtrooper legs and arms. there more action posed legs and both the legs and arms have a carapace like armour plating i can work with.

i will def. check the links. thanks brother!

i didnt want my inquisitors lookin like space marines like tyrus, emil darkhammer, coteaz and hector rex. i think they all lool absolutely ridiculous looking.

I have used this guy as a Crusader by adding an -][- sign on an arbites shield and giving him a power sword.

Whilst he is metal and would need a new head, he has armour that can pass as Flak or Carapace, a trenchcoat and a good, active pose.

Here's another auction of him with the shield.

Or this hired gun:

Or a Delaque Gangleader:

Being OOP these can be more difficult to find now and, of course, more expensive. As they are metal, this makes conversion more difficult but not too bad if you are careful.

On the plus side, you will have a rare model and unique conversion.

For instance, my inquisitor with null rod was made from this guy:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Necromunda-Hired-Gun-Wyrd-Wyrd-Telepath-OOP-/170873265304

For more inspiration, google 'inq28' or check some of the threads out on here:

http://s3.zetaboards.com/The_Ammobunker/forum/3012278/

im not one to enjoy working with metal in terms of conversion but those images give me ideas.

im gonna be making 3 witch hunters. one monkish. one a librarian in PA and a tabard. another more of the traditional "gunslinger" type you see in witch hunter depictions but a cowboy hat instead of a pointy witch cap. which i nwver got they are witch HUNTERS why look like a witch lol. the monk will be the pariah and either monodominant or recongregationist. the psyker will be polypsykana and the gunslinger unsure.

ill be making an ordos xenos who will be following xenos hybris and have modified imperial armour and weaponry heavily moddes out with xenos tech.

and finally a psyker darmon hunter in carapace armour and a cloak. havent decided kn his philosophical leanings.

As for the compatibility of SM and IG bits:  I made a dying inquisitor objective marker out of a GK torso, IG head, legs, arms from the command squad kit and a GS cloak/cape.

(The pic is a bit washed out, the highlighting is much more subtle on the pants in person)

http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2857/11818832373_4a48b4272a_c.jpg

thanks for the pic compatibility avery looks great too.

so for the pariahs retinue i was thinking:

eclesiarch priest zealot

auto savant servitor

tech priest

death cult assassin

an acolyte whose either an IG storm trooper who hated psykers and executed some that were in his regiment and sent to a penal legiom where he was picked up by inquisition

or what about a former commissar who hated psykers and took some sanctioned psykers out of his regiment just like the above mentioned.word spreads and hes picked up by thr inquisitor pariah

and i will be GS a "pariah suppressor" device on his armour. it will act as a social device. suppressing his pariah presence so non psykers and minor ability psykers wont realize hes a pariah and be able to interact with him.

moderate and powerful psykers will know and the device will have no effect on them. he has it installed simply as a matter of social convenience
