thebigdog
I've been using GW and MP paints for many years, simply because they're fairly easy to obtain where I live, however with the new citadel paint line I find i really hate the consistency. Its too thick to paint with and if you thin it,it looses too much opacity to be useful. The whites and light greys have had me in a RAGE induced rant on a number of occassions due to the chalkiness and grain in the texture. Needless to say, I'm switching to Vallejo slowly but surely as I get through my GW paints. Also the dropper bottles are great for measuring mix ratios. Forté
@thebigdog. You're not on your own there with the consistency. Vallejo and Coat D'arms will get my money. S.k.i.t.t.l.e
I've used the VMA metallics a lot recently, they walk all over everything else. The only thing that is better for smoothness and coverage is the alcohol based Liquid Gold, but that loses a few points because you gotta shake it for a week and you need a dedicated 'alcohol only' brush. I bought the basic set of 8 (I think) VMA metallics and they are all amazing. Knight of the Raven
I myself use Army Painter because of their primers.Three out of four which left my models covered in dust. Actual dust, which I could remove with a toothbrush. Yeah. Maybe I should have gone to Vallejo instead of buying their warpaints, however good they are. Knight of the Raven
I meant the spray cans. I'm not interested in getting an airbrush and priming by brush is too time-consuming. But thanks. They only do black, white and grey in a spray. MordentHex
I never use GW spray cans for priming anymore. its to expensive and i find other brands much better and reliable even in less than good room temperatures. Vallejo primers are very good, i use them even when painting to make the paint a bit more durable in some cases.
