Memento Of Prospero
Evening brothers! I've just taken possession of my first Warhound titan! I am looking for a colour scheme, and naturally I want a Heresy fluffy addition to my Iron Tenth... Is there any information regarding Famous legions that served along side Ferrus Manus and his sons? Heraldry and such would be a huge help. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287280-looking-for-titan-legions/ Share on other sites
Conn Eremon
Legio Atarus, described in Massacre, were at Isstvan V and according to Lexicanum fought alongside the Iron Tenth prior to that, at least once. Somebody who wants to delve into Massacre might be able to provide more than that. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Firebrands#.Uw1C2XPTmv0 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287280-looking-for-titan-legions/#findComment-3603569 Share on other sites
Iron Hands Fanatic
I've had a look at Massacre, and it doesn't mention a battle in which the 10th fought alongside Atarus, although it undoubtedly did at some point. There doesn't really seem to be any Legion that has (so far) been shown as serving alongside the Iron Hands for sustained periods, because I was looking for the same. A couple that might be interesting thematically, if you wanted to create your own link between the 10th & the Legion are Legio Crucius (the Warmongers - which, colour scheme and insignia wise look like they're made for the Iron Hands - although wouldn't provide much variety) and Legio Metalica (the Iron Skulls - perhaps a bit similar to the 10th in name, although knight house Krast is aligned to the Metalica Forge World & titan Legio, so would be perfect if you wanted to pick one of those up too). Memento Of Prospero
That's what I feared. I was trying to think back on all the Heresy passages and shorts on then Iron Hands, and couldn't recall anything. I was hoping that obscure IA lore might have something. Time to make my own junk! Much appreciated Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287280-looking-for-titan-legions/#findComment-3603584 Share on other sites
Memento Of Prospero
Well, it seems that Cormac was onto something, a friend of mine says Legio Atarus were attached to the X during the great crusade as well as Isstvan. I will find the references, I am seeing him next week. Iron Hands Fanatic
@ IHF They fought alongside the Firebrands in the short story stating on page 88 of Massacre. Ah okay, the Ultramarines were fighting beside them before the 10th & 3rd Legions arrived. I just skim read through the sections I thought were likely, so no surprise I missed it Out of interest Wolf_Pack, I was looking this up myself, and am sorely tempted to create some fluff about the 10th Legion (specifically Clan Brannsar) & Legio Crucius, but I'm worried the similarity of their schemes might be a bit much: http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111018231642/warhammer40k/images/c/c3/Legio_Crucius.jpghttp://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121114235712/warhammer40k/images/thumb/8/8c/Astramos_Mortis_Aeternem.jpg/497px-Astramos_Mortis_Aeternem.jpg Then again, it almost looks like it was MADE for the 10th Legion What do you think? Memento Of Prospero
I agree with you there. I am thinking of doing Legio Tempestus, to break up the uniform black we tend to have. That being said, That colour scheme is downright nice. Especially if you out the emphasis on the white and gold, it would blend and stand out at the same time. I might actually steal that idea =P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287280-looking-for-titan-legions/#findComment-3608012 Share on other sites
