Questions with Null Deployment

Hey Brothers,

 

So I am new to Blood Angels and I am absolutely loving the B&C BA community! You guys have given me so much information and really driven me to start a BA army! So thank you all :)

 

So I am really into the Null deployment playstyle of BA. I am yet to play a game using this strategy but I plan on having a game in the next couple of days but I am a little confused on a few points.

 

I uderstand that units in Drop pods and anything that has to start in reserve doesn't count towards your 50% limit. What I don't get is how you are able to have no models on the table turn1? I was told that if you have no models on the table turn 1 then you automatically lose?

 

Any help on this would be great!

You lose if you have no models on the table at the end of a game turn. So if the Drop Pod assault rule didn't exist, you would lose automatically because drop pods wouldn't be able to come in until turn 2

Just remember that everything but one unit (not counting asttached ICs) must be in drop pods or storm ravens. Or am I missing other units that must start in reserve?
