Going forgeworld - sell me the Horus Heresy

This thread is going to destroy my savings account.

You must be new to 30k.

You still have a savings account....

You know, I was thinking about this... Games Workshop gave you the option to buy an entire space marine chapter for $12,000 or so.

Now that GW and FW are merging... I could see a Legion sales package happening. FW just need to get Alan Bligh to sign it and toss a "one off" model sculpt in there for your primarch.

It may be $55,000, but you know somewhere, somehow, there's a guy sitting on cash that would buy it.

Or someone with a plan. To rob Fort Knox. But not me.

It's all very well having a legion worth of FW mini's... but who in their right mind has the time and energy to sit and clean, build, convert, and paint them all...  I struggle with what I have (ok, so there's quite a few models unmade in my collection still) ...

I guess there is always one who's insane enough to do it ... but I'm struggling with 3k worth atm, let alone 30k points work of 30k minis :)

Hah, 30k points wouldn't even start to net you a legion.

I just did the math. Assuming *only* tactical squads (as in we're talking basic bodies, no vehicles, support praetors or even the first upgrade) it would run around 125,000 points to run the Thousand Sons legion, which is the smallest documented legion.

That's 53,300 british sterling, or approximately $89,000 USD.

Fun times ^_^

Don't forget glue and paint. (We recommend using Citadel glue and Citadel paints.)

Ain't nobody got time fo that!!!

Well at least I know what to waste my money on when I win the mega millions....

You know. I bet you the guys who run the cartels actually play 30k and they're just trying to make a buck to finally finance that Ultramarines Legion they've always wanted.

What about dedicated transports artillery pieces terminator suits support weaponry jetbikes land speeders fire raptors thunderhawks drop pods etc.

Ohh my god I need to become a crack whore prostitute sell my body and fund this endeavour.

Or just fly over to Nottingham and hold it hostage till they cast enough resin for me.......

(I swear Kol Depthcharge and me have had this exact conversation before)

SHHHHHHHH! They might catch onto us and hire Heathens for security!

depthcharge - correct thank you, the Deathshroud, but they don't count towards troops (HQ command squad or elite options yes) - should have mentioned that more specifically smile.png

Oh wow, it really goes to show how much I have looked at the standard terminator entry (which obviously I haven't), they also have Implacable Advance, wow, I can't believe I didn't bother reading that... pinch.gif

Lol don't worry. The shame should be on me.

I read Betrayal like the Gospel when I'm on the throne.

You do that too? thumbsup.gif Throne reading is the best, until your leg goes numb..

Your shamless, and we all know you already are one! msn-wink.gif

Don't bother with the 40k unless it's conversion parts for a heresy army biggrin.png

Yes, no reason to downgrade unless you fancy something for the

conversion options. Don't be a slut like Jaspcat, choose 1 or the other and stick to

it. msn-wink.gif

I will say this about diving off the deep end into Forgeworld:

In my experience, the miniatures frequently require significantly more prep work than regular ol' GW stuff, especially the new plastic kits.

I have never gotten a FW piece that did not require a good deal of cleaning, mould line removal, straightening warped pieces, gap filling, you name it.

I think their sculpts are good enough that I don't really mind, but just be aware that you will probably be looking at a good deal more prep on a piece-by-piece basis.

I'm going up there next month. I can do a Recee. For the right price in resin crack....

FT Knox is empty sorry Brother.

Only according to the same conspiracies that say there is intelligent life serving in our government.

Not really.  It's been slowly getting more and more empty since the 70's when the US went off of the gold standard and started printing money that wasn't backed by gold.
