Schertenleib
made a list for a local tournament planning to use a quad gun on the Aegis Line to deal with any flyers. I didn't get around to buying said model and I may have to do without. How best do we deal with flyers without using a fortification? Bloodgrin
Long Fangs with a Rune Priest throwing Prescience (sp?) on them. Plasmas, Meltas, rockets, Laz..multiple things can pop them open You have to roll sixes but re-rolls help. I honestly try not to sweat flyers. Try to take out as much as you can before the flyers can hit the table. In my last three games against flyers every time I have popped them with random shots from a squad of Grey Hunters underneath carrying two Meltas and another time with a Plasma shot. Nothing special from the melta rule but it was a roll of 6, a pen with a strength 8 ap2 and it made it go boom. Don't let the flyers throw you off of your gameplan, deal with it as it comes at your pace and when needed. Rune Priest Jbickb
Without allies or fortifications your only option is as above. I've had Ok luck with the long fangs and prescience but I usually go for the scoring unit first any way and ignore the flyers and that usually does enough damage for me to take the objective s anyway. pedrogzc
Dread with double twin-linked autocannons also do a good work with flyers, specially FMC.
