Converting Centurion Arm Poses?

Recommended Posts

Howdy all,

Just a quickie. I've been googling the crap outta centurion conversions to try and get some inspiration for my assault squad I'm working on for my siege Van.

Pretty annoying as almost everyone I know or see is going for the grav cannons and using the stock poses.

I had a fleeting moment of hope when I saw Dave Taylor's BOLS article, and then saw he'd done something non-marine with them, awesome as everything he seems to do is!

With that said, I'm looking to do one thing in particular with my squad. Basically the arm poses really annoy me. Theres not much variety aside from the three stock poses, and to be honest it's near enough the same with the leg positions, though I am aiming at bitz ordering more walking legs.

I'm hoping to achieve something that will give the squad the dynamics of charging through breach - or actually causing the breach itself!

I really enjoyed the fluff of them leading the charge in sieges with the tacticals heading behind, and I aim to actually follow that up as a tactic, or stick them in a Caestus as a wrecking ball of a unit!

Rambles aside, and pre-empting some flak for being a centurion lover, have you guys any experience in converting them?

Much love,

To do this you need to do considerable conversion work. the pistons in the back will not join right if the arm is repositioned. basically converting the position of the legs or the arms on these is not for the faint of heart. I already did this for 4, I still have 2 left that I hesitate to start because it is such a large job.  If your hell bent though cut between the powerfist and the elbow and good luck.

Hmmm... Mordent from the looks of what I have, is it not simply a case of repositioning and then re holding the pistons with plastirod?

It's funny, they seem like very cumbersome units in very heavy exoskeletons, but yet they strike at initiative in melee, doesn't seem like their posing/structure seems to be that way!

well, the angle gets all wonky and then the actual arm doesn't match up correcly or something gets in the way of the pistons. you can try to lengthen them, but only to a certain extent without the piston looking wrong. I'm not trying to be negative here, it was just a real challange when i did mine. I eventually just had to cut the weapons off the chest and build up from there, which was even more converting. hehe. Im pleased with how mine came out, but it wasn't so easy. Dont get me even started on the repositioning of the legsgeek.gif

Thanks for that Mordant... Been checking them out, pretty nice!

Also, found this cracking resource for anyone who comes along later and decides they fancy a bash at converting some more dynamic centi's.
