themadlbb
I'm currently working on my first Ravenwing list, but had a question that may or may not have an obvious answer... How do competitive Ravenwing lists deal with flyers? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287346-ravenwing-vs-flyers/ Share on other sites
puck
The short answer would be: Black Knights. Just like everything else. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287346-ravenwing-vs-flyers/#findComment-3605155 Share on other sites
SvenONE
Don't be afraid to turboboost, always be aware if they can go into hover mode. If it's a flying monstrous creature though or something that can vector strike...just hope for the best. Kabbala
The same way you'd always deal with a flyer if you don't have your own or any AA. A RW option, though not the best one mind you, is the Land speeder Tempest. You may get lucky with the AssCan or TL Krak missile. Pyro X
apart from MCs the only fliers you need to really worry about is helldrakes. Them things will $%^* all over your day as ravenwing. RW has the movement that they can out move most fliers by knowing their turn arc and avoiding line of fire. Others you could just blast them down with knights or if they have 10 armour on any side by glancing them to death (twin linked helps vs fliers alot). pressence on the land speeders helps as well. MCs that fly as a different animal all together. If you run a librarian that could really help once it lands or if you force it to land. Isiah
Aegis Defence Lines are also an option. Cheers I Edit: I know it's not Ravenwing, but paint it black ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287346-ravenwing-vs-flyers/#findComment-3605676 Share on other sites
Chaplain Lucifer
Problem is Isiah, you're forgetting that the Aegis need to be manned and a pure RW can't afford to stay still in an Aegis. They can though, call 9th company aid to lend a devastator squad with flakk missiles. Isiah
Cheap techmarine would do the job. Either with bike or without :) Cheers I Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287346-ravenwing-vs-flyers/#findComment-3606352 Share on other sites
Master Sheol
If you want to stay fast go with FW and take a SE or a FR... I would say a NJF Too but it is crap unfortunately... Pity cause i would run both 1 NJF and a FR together in a pure RW Force...
