Need some help with a technique

Recommended Posts

Hey,

With the coming of the knights, i had some ideas on what i want with them. However, it tends to go better in my mind, then it does in real life. So i need some help :)

I wanted to make my knights be ''inspired'' on each of the four chaos gods. My first one, will be based on khorne, and will be Red with brass/bronze/goldish. But in my mind i want the paint to appear slightly warped, and starting to reveal icons of Khorne in the paint without really changing the colours. In similar vain, i am just going to remove overly Imperial icons, but im not going to add any mutations, or chaos icons (obvious ones!). I want the paint to resemble motion, that in fluff, when you look at it, you are not quite sure what you see or saw. I hope i get my point across here :)

i got the idea from Dan's (i think it was his) stippling technique on one of the Freeblades in WD 5. I was just wondering if you guys think that will work best for the result i want, or if there are better techniques?

Thanks in advance

Don't forget that Khorne's colours are red, BLACK, and brass. So that's your colour combo.

As for stippling. Check this thread out.

Get a toothpick and draw the symbol you want where you want it in the same shade as the panel you're drawing on. Let it dry, then draw over it again. Do this over and over again, and it'll leave a really subtle image.

Damn, I noticed the thing about stippling after typing that, Ah well, try it anyway.
