dothac83
I finished assembling my Space Wolf army and now I'm ready to paint. Here's the catch, I am on a budget and cannot afford the GW Paints the way they're priced right now. Are there any paints out there that work just as good? Note: I'm in the US (In Arizona), so I would like suggestions on paints I can get here. Thunderhawk3015
Army Painter primers/paints. Check out their site so you know what kind of selection they have. Check your local arts/crafts store for brushes but Army Painter has them as well. Unfortunatly, I don't know of any "cheaper" way per say to paint the models because the paints from the various manufactures are approxamatly the same cost(within $1.00) of each other around me here on the East Coast. That said you would be suprised how little an amount of paint you use for the models, I had 2 pots of GW paint last me 2 batallion boxes worth of marines with left over for 2 vindicators and a land raider on the base coat. Watering down your paints slightly is something I would consider normal for painting so you get more life from the paint as there is less being used overall. Just out of curiosity, how many models are you painting? Akragth
Vallejo. Not only are they cheaper they're generally better than GW paints in the first place, imo at least. The Warstore stocks them for less than $3 each. http://www.thewarstore.com/VallejoGameColorsPageI.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287479-painting-on-a-budget-need-advice/#findComment-3607688 Share on other sites

Wulfebane
Go to Imperial Outpost Games in Glendale. They have a lot of alternatives and painting days where sometimes you can bum a paint color. Nadir
Vallejo all the way. Great pigment, great tones, and those alcohol based mettalics... You can also use theit "Air" paints, which are great for airbrushing. Wargamer base paint is also nice.
