Brother Caliban
For years now I've been interested in an airbrush and from what I gather Harder and Steenbeck is the last work in Airbrushes. I am a firm believed that you get what you pay for. Does anyone have much experience in which would be the best airbrush for rank and file and which could be adapted to perform rank and file painting as well as some detailing?Information here is appreciated. I am looking through stockists and having a little trouble as I am currently located in Korea. To that note if anyone knows a decent worldwide or other trusted online supplier then please let me know. I really begrudge using Ebay these days since everything is pretty much fake. Many thanks in advance. Caliban. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287507-harder-and-steenbeck-airbrush-question/ Share on other sites
Kronus Stormbringer
I use a Harder and Steenback Evolution Silverline with 0.2 and 0.4 nozzles, I also have a Iwata Neo with 0.35 and 0.5 Nozzles. The thing with an airbrush in my experience is that what one person finds the most comfortable in the world and the best to use will not always be for you. The H&S is a very good brush with good levels of control available to me with the Iwata just as good but a little easier to use when starting out (The controls are easier until you get the finger control sorted etc in my opinion) A good basic review of airbrushes etc was done by Les at APJ which can be found here Its hard to recommend a brush other than to tell you about build quality etc as i've explained above. irwit
I have a HnS going upgrading froma cheap chinese. The main improvement for me is just how easy they are to clean, its so quick to dismantle and with the ball joint trigger its so much easier than other brushes. I base coats and highlights with my airbrush so Im in no way an expert user but I can definately reccomend the HnS brush. One thing to note, in terms of quality of the tip, which is what you are paying for with an airbrush, all HnS brushes are exactly the same. The Infinity looks better and has ever so slightly more functionality but really th silverline is your best bang for buck.
