Torin
After reading through the topic posted i find it would nice to find out the wargear layout for all the Wolf lord. We know Logan, Ragnar and probably krom. What about the others. Doesnt matter from which time line.. just want to know what to the lords take to battle and maybe some description on how they look like.. scare on left eye, large white wolf pelt or something.. etc Would be nice to make a diorama of all the lords in the grand hall of the fang. just my 2 cents. 1. Logan Grimnar - Axe of Morkai, TDA, Storm Bolter, Wolf tooth Necklace, Wolf Tail, Belt Of Russ. 2. Ragnar - Power Armor, Bolt Pistol, WtN, Wt, Frost Blade, Belt Of russ. Torin
hahaha...that a good one. That true.. since each lord is suppose to be unique in their own way. But fluff wise what do we wolves know of the lord. Any special artifact. Logan(axe), Ulrick(wolf helm), Arjack(foe hammer) & Lucas(dop cloak) has something special.. ragnar has none beside his awesome raging fury &... just a frost blade. What about the other lords like gunnar, harald, erik, engir, bran & etc... what do they have. Have any fluff came about these lord. Thunderhawk3015
Bran Redmaw is covered in Doom of Mymeria. If memory serves he has some special axe and some other stuff. As far as the others go, they may have something "special" that is a weapon they have had since they were a Blood Claw or something they were awarded for their actions at some point as seen in Blood of Asahiem where one of the pack members has a relic power blade because of something he did. Descriptions/ideas of how they look can be surmised from the descriptions of the current great companys in the Space Wolf codex with a little imagination. Since there are no "offical" descriptions i'd say go with what you think would best represent their personalities based off how their names/great company descriptions. Just my take on the matter. Vash113
Erik Morkai habitually wears an ancient bear pelt and is armed with a plasma pistol and a massive chain-axe that can split down the middle into two weapons he dual wields. He is shown on the cover of the Bloodspire/Deathwolf Audiobook seen here: http://www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/deathwolf-mp3.htmlHarald Deathwolf is essentially this model: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440279a&prodId=prod1460183aAs the model indicates he rides a Thunderwolf known as Icetooth who has one of his canines replaced with a fragment of a shattered frost axe. Harald wields a Frost Axe and Storm Shield and wears a trollhide pelt.Bran Redmaw can be seen in this (as yet unreleased) model by Forge World: http://www.tartanpaint.info/2011/10/08/games-day-uk-2011-photos/bran-redmaw-forgeworld/#.UxYQ8oXpi0cBran wears Rune Armor, WTN, Bolt Pistol, Belt of Russ and carries the Axe Langnvast.Bjorn Stormwolf is described in the Codex as wearing Terminator Armor and huge of stature. As for weapons I would imagine a combi-weapon or storm bolter and probably a Thunder Hammer, the loudest and/or most destructive weapons available as fits his described character.Egil Iron Wolf is described as more metal than man and he personally leads his armored assaults from his heavily customized land raider adorned with the shields of his Fenresian tribal household. So for Egil I imagine lots of bionics and if you build his Land Raider it should have fantasy Marauder shields mounted along it's flanks. The rest of the Wolf Lords mentioned in the codex are not detailed enough for me to hazard a guess. Sven Bloodhowl should be covered in tattoos and heavily adorned with flame iconography, Gunnar Red Moon should be modeled larger than most other marines but that's all the more detail presented. Thus far that's the best I can drum up from the codex and other available material. Perhaps the Arjac novella will reveal more of the current Wolf Lords than is already present but that's 5 for a total of 7, so we have a good idea of what more than half of the Wolf Lords look like, that's better than pretty much any other chapter. Ragnar doesn't actually have/wear a Belt of Russ, as he gets a 4++ Dodge save instead, which is more or less the same. Otherwise, you've listed his gear correctly for the current version. In his previous incarnation (3e), however, both his Frost Blade and his Bolt Pistol were Master-Crafted, and you can get a sense of that from the model. In the version before that (2e) his Frost Blade was a unique weapon named Frostfang, which was even more special with additional rules captured on its Wargear Card. I, for one, am hoping that he gets a special/unique Frostfang back in the next codex, especially as frost weapons have proliferated over time. Additionally, he really needs Runic Armour (vice just Power) to be competitive with other heroes of his stature - despite his offensive power, with relatively weak defenses (3+/4++) and no Eternal Warrior, one can hardly justify the o/a Land Raider price that you pay for him. Otherwise, as far as I know, the specific gear of the remainder of the Wolf Lords not already discussed is intentionally not provided. GW designers don't want to dictate everything, and want to allow players to be as flexible as possible in developing their own versions of these characters.
