Gunslinger Wolf Lord Questions

Using the 40k's Rulebook rule about wielding 2 Pistols, I've come up with this Loadout for a Gunslinger Wolf Lord:

Wargear: Runic Armor, Bolt Pistol, Plasma Pistol, Belt of Russ, Melta Bombs, Wolftooth Necklace, Wolf-Tail Talisman, Saga of the Bear

(Throw in a Jump Pack and you'd have a Space Wolf Jango/Boba Fett)

Seeing how the Wolf Lord has 4 attacks, that would be 8 shots (4 Bolt/4 Plasma), which could really mess up any infantry/vehicle/MC/etc.

Is Mark of the Wulfen a good idea for a Wolf Lord?

Has anyone tested out the Gunslinger rule with their Sons of Russ?

Number of Attacks in the profile doesn't affect number of shots (that's always determined by the weapon's profile). Since both Pistols have a single shot each, the WL would only get one shot per weapon per Shooting phase. Not great, and he's have no Special Close Combat Attacks, which is where he really shines.

I believe or is Cypher the fallen Angel that has that rule. And those numbers (4 base I think) only apply in close combat. I personally think it is a neat idea but to have a wolf lord not in combat goes against whatever they have for a religion. :)

Yeah, if you really wanted to do that Id suggest a WGBL instead, perhaps running some blood claw jumppackers around....

Though hey, it doesnt have to be effective to be fun. Ive got a pair of WGPLs with Stormshield, wolf claw, meltabomb and jump pack- nicked the winged ones fromt he sanguinairy guard box. Hunnin and Munnin run a bit over 120pts a piece, so they dont come out to play alot but they sure are alot of fun.

I might just have to steal that idea...

No, Cypher shoots people in the face with both pistols in close combat (S4AP5 for half of his attacks, S7AP2 for the other half)

They also rock in kill team...

fo' sho! Although then i usually take the wulfen off him and put that on someone else, just to spread the points around a bit more

wulven on a TWM character is kind of counter productive because the attacks don't stack; they both say they replace the attack profile.

so minimum of 4 attacks on a Battle Leader in my mind would not warrant a chance for rolling between 2 & 7.... 50% chance of better.... 50% chance of not.  even worse on a lord.

A bit expensive but in some games I run a WGPL with scouts and give him 2 plasma pistols. With a plasma gun and 2 plasma pistols in the scouts that's a fair amount of AP2 shots coming in from a flank. If you combine it with a similarly loaded Hunter pack led by a Wolf Priest with SotH acute senses gives a more than reasonable chance of 12 plasma shots arriving from on the same flank.
