Tubbylove
Hi All, I have checked the FAQ but can't see a definitive answer. Does jaws affect Flying MC's ? it states MC's in the FAQ. Also do they need to be grounded for the power to take affect?? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287605-jaws-question/ Share on other sites
Baulder
Pretty sure that while they are flying you cant hit them because you don't roll to hit. I think this is also the case for living lightning. Reckon you can still hit them once they are grounded though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287605-jaws-question/#findComment-3610695 Share on other sites
DanPesci
i would have thought you can hit them once grounded, but as they are flying I would seriously doub the ability to affect them with something that essentially opens a chasm in the ground (especially when it cant affect tanks cos of 'anti grav booster' etc etc.) Also, baulder, im pretty sure you do roll to hit with living lightning. The way ive always played it is that you first roll to hit, then if you hit, you roll d6 to see how many hits youve done (I think - ive played it this way so long i cant remember where i read that this was how you do it) - so you could hit a flying MC with living lightning, its just it would need a 6 to hit in the first place Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287605-jaws-question/#findComment-3610749 Share on other sites
Baulder
I stand corrected, apologies for that. Think I must confused this with murderous hurricane which auto hits but cannot hit flyers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287605-jaws-question/#findComment-3610935 Share on other sites
G. A. K.
sorry but the codex does not list FMC as a unit type which can be targeted. Jump is a sub category of other unit types not so you can hit jump infantry and jump monsterous creatures because they are still classified as infantry or MCs with jump movement rules in addition to their other rules. FMCs are a separate unit type which is not listed under the units the power can target. Grey Mage
G.A.K. has the right of it, they divided out MCs into regular MCs and Flying MCs, and we dont get flying MCs- not only do giant cracks in the ground not affect things that fly, but the unit type didnt even exist when our codex came out. DanPesci
Ah ok cool, so you cant even hit them when theyre grounded...as they still count as FMC even if they can no longer fly? IK Viper
Does Jaws affect the exact models under the line or are casualties removed from the front? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287605-jaws-question/#findComment-3612740 Share on other sites
HergerOddhowl
Exactly the models underneath the straight line you draw, allowing you to "snipe" out particular models. I still smile thinking of the first warboss and squad of meganobs I crushed. Valerian
Ah ok cool, so you cant even hit them when theyre grounded...as they still count as FMC even if they can no longer fly? Exactly; they're unit type isn't affected by their circumstances within a game.
