tjdudey
Did you see what I did there. Am quite new to Warhammer, and am loving my Wolves. However, I want to make my own Long Fang models, Is it possible to magnetise the standard troop models, so that I can switch between lascannons, missile launchers etc depending on what I want? Or are those models too small to effectively magnetise? Would love some tips on this, as well as the uses of Green Stuff. Thanks Tom Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287608-im-a-convirgin/ Share on other sites
Vykryl
I've magnetized power armor. Not sure what size I used seems like 1/8x1/16, they where earring magnets my wife had. Picked up some 3mm x 1mm that won't require as deep a hole. Same diameter as I used before but thinner Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287608-im-a-convirgin/#findComment-3610723 Share on other sites
DanPesci
You can definately magnetise power armour..ve never done long fangs though (only my wolf guard are magentised). The one issue with magents you may have in this case is if the heavy weapon is metal, it may weight a bit to much to magentise, but id definately give it a shot Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287608-im-a-convirgin/#findComment-3610751 Share on other sites
Max_Dammit
The 2 arms are always connected by the weapon (unless you go oldskool) so you hve to slide the wapon on from the front, it can be done but there is a big chance of damage. I wouldnt bother and just make the models, its not like you need 50 of them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287608-im-a-convirgin/#findComment-3610774 Share on other sites
Eternal Warrior
If you are using rare earth magnets on pure plastic kits then go as small as possible. They are beyond powerful and run the chance I'd tearing themselves out of their moorings. Grey Mage
If you want to magnetize them I would hunt around for the older LF kit, from the late 90s... their heavy weapons being on a single arm would allow for that level of customization easy. Alternatively you could kitbash with some IG heavy weapons, which are often just a wee bit smaller and look fine one handed by a marine. Thanks for all your advice, I especially like the idea of kitbashing these, I would like some fairly unique models. I will give this a go.
