Imperial Fists...

Hello all, I've recently been inspired to start up my Imperial Fists again. So, last night I got out three test minis and got to painting...Which sadly, and unsurprisingly, failed miserably. They are now preparing to soak in Simple Green and I'm about to give up before even truly beginning.

Here's the paints I have and have tested for my Fists:

Daemonic Yellow spray and brush on (Worthless, spray never comes out right and the brush on is so watery it acts more like a wash than actual paint)

Vallejo white primer brush on (Awesome, worked great)

Vallejo Game Color Moon Yellow basecoat (Came out looking good)

Casandora Yellow (Made the mini too orange)

Lamenter's Yellow (The color looks good, but, seemed really thick for some reason. Perhaps I'm just not accustomed to glazes?)

So, when I prime white and basecoat with the Moon yellow it starts to look pretty good, but, then falls apart when I try anything else. Any other tips or tricks for quick, easy yellow will be greatly appreciated or where I can go on from my primer and basecoat. Thanks in advance!

One thing I may try tonight on another mini is just priming white then applying a few layers of Casandora Yellow and see what that gets me.

Pics to see what you've achieved (if they've not hit the bath yet) would be helpful, and maybe a pic of a model that's is what you're aiming for.

Check out the Help!!! Yellow thread a couple of posts down, it's pretty much the same question.

Cheers,

Jono

I stumbled across a quick easy yellow recently. I used Vallejo white primer, I have brushed it on and sprayed it on, didnt seem to make a great difference. washed it heavily in the sepia wash (whatever it is called now) I then heavily dry brushed on golden yellow and then lightly dry brushed on sunburst yellow then very very lightly (as in barely an pressure) dry brushed on white on the very edges, I then yellow glazed the lot and it turned out really well!

Hmm...May have to give that a shot. Do you have any pics of the end result?

I will see if I can find them. I just did some terminator legs to show my nephew how as he is doing fists and couldn't find an easy recipe. I have the feeling he has them with him though
