imo, the quickest way to go from Black Legion to Black Templar= White. Even by just painting the helmet white, you'd go away from the BL image immediately. Besides that, Iconography. Using some Imperial/Templar symbols and icons does the same job really.

I'll try it, if it's still not enought Templary, I'll convert it into an Astral Claws Knight. (Silver, with Gold Borders and Blue Shoulderpads)

Hmmm... Those Teutonic Knights look cool, but umm... You might wanna remove those Chaos icons from those shields.

Those horns might be risky, but that could be solved by a decent paintjob. I'm kinda curious now!

What chaos icon on shields? XD

I already removed them, and I'll paint epic big Templars Cross on them.

For the Horns, I tryied to find better helmets, and I didn't found.

I'll paint them with alternance of white and black.

The tabars will be whites, with Black Cross, and armor black.

I'll use Blood Angels Command Squad Jetpacks.

Such an awesome looking and distinctive marshal. I love everything about him. I'd actually feel bad shooting at him. (if I was your opponent).

Your centurions/knight is such a massive amount of dakka, I'd probably just shake your hand and avoid putting my orks on the table to save time.

Yeah, the red "edges" on the Vanguards looks great.

 

EDIT: And I was pretty surprised looking at your marshalls. It was like this: "ha, those green stuff bits look like boobs... but they can't be... yeah, they are".

They're distinctive and definitely match your intended aesthetic. I'm not sure I'm entirely sold - they have a slight inherently renegade feel that I can't seem to shake. But, they're gonna look awesome regardless!

It's interesting, and you really nailed the design, and Mattias does have a point, they do feel a tad renegade, perhaps if you mix in some 'plain' helmets, you could get rid of that look. (Or add other more ostentatious, but less horny decorations.)

Personally, I think that if you used the actual Teutonic cross, and add a tiny Malteze one in a corner, it'd make them stand out more.

Last minute addition: You know what, I just looked at your inspiration picture, and then it hit me. It's the shields. Those semi-circle cut outs really detract from the Teutonic Knight-look. And perhaps, by cutting of the top section, and leaving them with whole, but slightly smaller shields would enhance the look completely.

Offcourse, these are just humble suggestions, yours to use or leave at your discretion.

Also, I must apologize for missing that you shaved of the Chaos Icons of the shields. I must have my eyes re-checked. I know I have poor vision, but this poor?

EDIT: You know what, after re-reading this post, I feel I come off too negative, because this is a daring conversion, and it's a really cool one. So I felt the need to stress that again, because they are awesome models!

hmmm... the chaos looking icon on the head is still visible... the arrow thing on his forehead...

 

also... the concept is cool and I do agree on it... but what I feel lacking is the Knightly look on the helmet and not the horns itself...

If you look at the 1st picture of the teutonic Knights, instead of the (Mk. 7 Aquila) Skull-like design, they havve the old school Grey knight style helms (which has the Gundam-like mouth guard similar to 2 of the Black Templar helms). Maybe a quick chop of the horns, and place horns on the BT or GK helm would bring back that knightly look more...

 

(Arrows on head BAD, they are a Mark of Chaos, namely the Black Legion, even Cypher who seeks to redeem his traitorous brethren in the eyes of the Emperor doesn't have one, that's why Guilliman's book is heresy, they have arrow marking for Tactical Squads and Fast Attack Squads!)

But you're right on one point, the Chaos Arrow on the helmet, I've tryied to make it a part of a Templar Cross, but failed it on the first model.

 

It's also the first early test, meaning I'll probably add details / change some parts. + they actually don't have Shoulder Pads and Backpack ^^

 

And for the helmet, it's also right they are not enought Knightly, I'll see on the Chaos Warrior box I've ordered if there is some good looking heads for my others vangs (need 7 more)
