Doghouse
Cheers guys! :D Sadly the arm is pretty much fixed in place now but that does sound like a good idea. Quick update of sorts. Having seen the new Scions it has given me the perfect excuse to finally put some paint on this Commissar Lord I made ages ago. I'm thinking maybe a force of them backed up by a Knight Titan and the false Primarch would look really good. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/Mutt2050/002-10.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/Mutt2050/001-12.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287743-a-little-bit-of-insanity/page/2/#findComment-3615197 Share on other sites
GhostMalone
That's a sweet commissar what model is it based on? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287743-a-little-bit-of-insanity/page/2/#findComment-3615232 Share on other sites
Koriel
I believe it's the latest commissar lord with, what appears to be, Yarrick's head. Great looking model btw ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287743-a-little-bit-of-insanity/page/2/#findComment-3615242 Share on other sites
KBA
Look at that huge marine! Glorious! I commend you on having the balls to go full blast using Ferrus as a base. Last of the giants being hunted down by in the big I? Awesome!! Hyaenidae
All I can think of is "rogue Thunder Warrior" When I see that dude. Amazing stuff, man. You never fail to leave me in awe of your converting skills. batu
The Lord Commisar conversion is awesome. The Yarrick head fits perfectly. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287743-a-little-bit-of-insanity/page/2/#findComment-3615444 Share on other sites
Doghouse
Cheers guys! :) Jaspcat: Just like Koriel said it's the Commisar Lord with bits of Yarrick thrown in. Not sure what the cane was from but the hand was from a fantasy archer if I remember rightly. KBA: Yeah I think it might turn out to be a cool concept for them. I like the idea of the Imperium fighting on all fronts and not every single detail being passed back to Terra. I kind of see this guy as slipping through the net for years and suddenly turning up out of the blue having formed his own little empire. That's the cool thing about 40k there is so much room for villains and heroes beyond what we find in the codexes and background matterial. 1000heathans: Thanks mate, now that you point that out I can completely see what you mean. Batu: Thanks mate, I wanted someone old and grizzled and Yarrick fit the bill perfectly. I kind of see this guy as being centuries old, keep alive with all manner of potions and treatments so that his knowledge of war can be put to good use. Had a bit of a rethink regarding the false primarch and I've begun working the torso. The idea is that I want something more like the new storm trooper models so that I can use them as House Hold troops and that the theme carries across in some way. i'll post some pictures later. Doghouse
Quick update I was hoping to get started on painting this guy this weekend but sadly it hasn't gone as planned and it'll probably be a few days before I can find the time to get started. I've started to rework the body to make it more like the new storm troopers, ideally I'd like a small force of those to back this guy up. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/Mutt2050/003-10.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287743-a-little-bit-of-insanity/page/2/#findComment-3615885 Share on other sites
batu
I like the new breastplate. Aren't his arms too long though ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287743-a-little-bit-of-insanity/page/2/#findComment-3615997 Share on other sites
reckoning
Awesome work so far. The only gripe I have is the sword. Just personal taste but Im not a fan. Everything else is looking good. Doghouse
Cheers guys Batu: Yeah I think the arms do kind of look a little too long but it's a combination of the positioning of the legs, the slight drop in the left shoulder and my bad camera work. To be honest I think the arms may naturally be about a finger length too long on the model but I think that is do to the dramatic pose of the original design with him swinging the hammer, I'm not certain to be fair. receokning34: I have to agree there mate, if I can find a single bladed axe I may swap it out. Doghouse
Ok maybe a sliiiiiight change og plan here, not sure. I may make this guy into the 11th Primarch but not sold on the idea just yet, I think a dual purpose model might be pretty cool and by chance his weapons aren't that far off what Fulgrim uses. As some of you may know I am very pro 2nd and 11th should be there for people to stretch their imagination so may go that route, not sure yet. I quite like the idea of a Primarch that was raised by Xenos. For the time being he has a working name of Ramius, but like everything I do that is subject to change. Still needs loads of clean up and detailing but he's getting there, the right arm looks kinda long in this picture but in person looks ok, bit weird. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/Mutt2050/001-13.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/Mutt2050/002-11.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/Mutt2050/003-11.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s196/Mutt2050/004-6.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287743-a-little-bit-of-insanity/page/2/#findComment-3623678 Share on other sites

Lykos
I like the work you do but I think maybe his left leg is just a little to far spread out. The gate looks off. Blissful Brushes
Welcome back Good start so far IMO, I think a slow walk would be most appropriate without having to play with his arms too much: would look nice and imposing. KBA
A Primarch raised by xenos? There's an incredible II/XI Legion idea I've never heard before. Would love to hear more about that tale. malika666
Man...converting a Primarch model. I think the only other person who did that was John Blanche who converted Angron into a bodyguard.
