Lautris
Hi all, I've been advised to take a Land Raider Redeemer as a dedicated transport for my band of Death Cult Assassins, but I can't find anything in the Codex that suggests that I can do this? Can anyone please help me? Thanks in advance :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287874-newbie-question-dedicated-transports/ Share on other sites
alex567
I believe this is a reference to the supplement "Codex: Inquisition", in this supplement units of inquisitorial henchmen are allowed to take several extra dedicated transports then their grey knight codex counterparts. One of these is the land raider redeemer. If you are running an all inquisitor warband, then I would recommend you purchase a copy. It has some interesting content on other inquisitorial organisations, alongside a few extra rules to add to your force. Lautris
Great, I'll get myself a copy! Many thanks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287874-newbie-question-dedicated-transports/#findComment-3616927 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
You can run a Raider Rush list with Inquisition for the lulz. Seeing as a legal Henchmen unit can be as cheap as 12 points, it's an amusing way to cram some AV14 into your army without giving up Heavy Support slots and/or having to buy a Terminator squad first. Gentlemanloser
I made an old one, I'll update the list for the lulz; Primary - Codex: Inquisition HQ: Inquisitor (25) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Inquisitorial HQ: Coteaz (100) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Total: 1,697 That gives you 6 Land Raiders contianing Scoring Units. And the evermighty Lord of Space and Time. And the otpion to take 3 Servo Skulls. Oh, and you can squeeze in some SM allies for another LR. How about; Allies - Codex: Dark Angels HQ: Librarian (65) Troop: Scouts x5 (60) Heavy: Land Raider (250) Total: 2,072 Well, you'd have to chop some things down. LR to LRR maybe. Drop Coteaz for a normal Inquisitor if you can handle not having three more scoring units. That's (with a Servo Skull) 2k on the nose! Primary - Codex: Inquisition HQ: Inquisitor, Servo Skull (28) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Inquisitorial HQ: Inquisitor (25) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Allies - Codex: Dark Angels HQ: Librarian (65) Troop: Scouts x5 (60) Heavy: Land Raider (250) Total: 2,000 7 Land Raiders! How do you like them apples? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287874-newbie-question-dedicated-transports/#findComment-3618886 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
Post it on Warseer and claim you've won tournaments with it. Advise new players that all they need to buy is a few IG models and 7 Land Raider kits. Gentlemanloser
Didn't I tell you guys I went 5-0 with it at the Ultimate Supreme Grand Tournament held recently at my mates house? Sadly, the prizes were lacking though. Edit: This list plays very fast as well. Great for pick up games. Move 7 tanks around and shoot some LTLC. Edit2: Depening on points, I'm considering dropping two LR for LRR, to give me points to upgrade two LR to LRC. Now if only I could find the 70 points for some Multi-Meltas... Gentlemanloser
Prices were slightly off. Codex: Inquisition doesn't have to pay for the mostly useless Psychic Pilot. Primary - Codex: Inquisition HQ: Inquisitor, Servo Skull (28) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (252) Elite: Warrior x3, LR (262) Elite: Warrior x3, LRC (262) Inquisitorial HQ: Inquisitor (25) Elite: Warrior x3, LRR (252) Elite: Warrior x3, LRR (252) Elite: Warrior x3, LRC (262) Allies - Codex: Space Marines HQ: Librarian (65) Troop: Scouts x5 (55) Heavy: Land Raider (250) Total: 1,975 By dropping to two LRR (and LRC cost the same as Godhammers for C:I) you save 20 points. This could get you 2 Multi Melta's, or upgrade 4 LR with Psybolt Ammo. I'd suggest doing that for the LRC, as it ups both the TL Assault Cannon *and* both the Hurricane Bolter sponsons. Hell, with the 20 points, you could have 2 LRR and 4 LRC, and upgrade the 4 LRC to Psybolt Ammo. Leaving you with just a single Godhammer from your SM Allies. Edit: Swap to Codex Marines, thier Scout Squads are 5 points cheaper than Dangles, so that's a few more points saved. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288041-7-land-raiders/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287874-newbie-question-dedicated-transports/#findComment-3620438 Share on other sites
irwit
Your landraider would also have it will not die if you go iron hands also. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287874-newbie-question-dedicated-transports/#findComment-3620688 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
Your landraider would also have it will not die if you go iron hands also. Only their Landraiders, IIRC. The bonus doesn't extend to Allied ones. Gentlemanloser
Check the link to the Army List thread. I updated it to what I think is possibly the best configuration. 1 LRR 3 LRC with Psybolts 3 LR Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287874-newbie-question-dedicated-transports/#findComment-3621278 Share on other sites
