Koriel
Jaw-dropping model and a close match to the artwork. Was it Simon Egan that sculpted him btw? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287926-horus-mini/page/2/#findComment-3618037 Share on other sites
Kol Saresk
he didnt have the terminator plate till after they were sons of horus, prior to that he wore white and gold armour that is described like artificer armour, the terminator warplate is a gift from the lord of Mars (read Kryptos)If I recall correctly in Horus Rising and False Gods hes mentioned as wearing and alabaster and gold terminator armour. Also during the Triumph at Ullanor. That and the cover of Primarchs has that "hood" that pretty much all Terminator armor has. Side question, if its big enough to be worn by a Primarch, is it still Terminator armor? Or is it called that because that's the "pattern" it is designed on? I would say its called terminator armour because of the pattern. DarKnight
Don't particularly care too much for 'Worldbreaker' either, but maybe I'm just picking nits. For a Primach that supposed to be the spitting image of the Emperor, they really dropped the ball on that Lorgar face. Oof. Telhdrat
I'm not too sure about the Worldbreaker either but that armour is superb. I can actually hear it clicking and whirring just by looking at the picture. Emperor's Furor
That's the problem with changing colours and having prominent equipment given at crucial points in the story. For example if you wanted to do a luna wolves army you shouldn't technically use that Horus model since he's wearing equipment he didn't start wearing until the Sons of Horus came about. GrandMagnus
If Im not mistaken Horus wielded a sword before being named Warmaster and the Emperor gave him Worldbreaker, right? Blindhamster
He did indeed wield a sword, one of a matching pair, sanguinius has the other. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287926-horus-mini/page/2/#findComment-3618100 Share on other sites
SteelPaladin
Jaw droppingly awesome. He is perfect. I was worried about the face, but wow, Simon (if that is indeed who sculpted him) nailed it. I am in awe. Good thing I have a fledgling Sons of Horus army, otherwise I would have to start from scratch, because I just have to own that mini. Poor Lorgar really got shafted with that head though, he looks especially poor next to Horus and Ferrus. Gorgeous armor, but man, that head is a shame Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287926-horus-mini/page/2/#findComment-3618141 Share on other sites

Conn Eremon
I just collect all the Primarchs regardless if I start an army or not *cue Pokemon theme* Honestly, if I ever get a model, it'll be loyalist Lufgt Huron, from a modeler/painter whose services I hired. Then it'd be Primarchs. Primarchs. And more Primarchs. And probably a cheaper modeler/painter whose service I'll hire. And then I'll put them on display somewhere, hopefully out of the reach of children and cats alike. Which is a lot harder than it sounds. Marshal Rohr
I love the model, but I was really hoping for an exact replica of the pose from Collected Visions. That would've been too cool to make that artwork in diorama form. Aqui
Wasn't there a rumour of 3 incarnations of Horus?I'd heard that, but there again, each of the fallen Primarchs could realistically get up to two sculpts, at least those who became Daemon Primarchs anyway. Edit: I really do like the Horus model! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287926-horus-mini/page/2/#findComment-3618322 Share on other sites
Prodigal Son of Magnus
Love everything but the head. What is it with FW and screwing up Primarch heads? First you had Hulk Fulgrim, then Grandpa Lorgar and while Horus' is not bad per say it looks out of synch with he rest of the pose, almost like he's posing for a photo. Conn Eremon
Eh. I, for one, liked Lorgar. I just think people put too much shading on some of the lines, making him look old. Angron's head was easily missed because of how busy the overall model was, though not in a bad way. I'd put Horus' head alongside Ferrus' (Oh ho ho ho!) in terms of quality. . . . Now I want them to make a Primarch head that is better than the Gorgon's, just so I can stop thinking of his head as something special all by itself. Marshal Rohr
This would all be solved if they came with helmets. Cant make a helmet look old :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287926-horus-mini/page/2/#findComment-3618441 Share on other sites
Conn Eremon
Too fething true. I'd overcome my hesitation and buy a model like nothing flat if they did that. Flint13
Love everything but the head. What is it with FW and screwing up Primarch heads? First you had Hulk Fulgrim, then Grandpa Lorgar and while Horus' is not bad per say it looks out of synch with he rest of the pose, almost like he's posing for a photo. I think that's exactly what it does and should look like. The most lasting feature I get of Horus from the original trilogy is that of an unbelievably charismatic wordsmith who can effortlessly switch tact between anyone he converses with. I think that head is perfection. It displays uncompromising confidence and effortless poise. On a smaller note, am I the only one that is super glad FW updated his wolf scarf to be way more fierce and way less mopey? Conn Eremon
I do like that the wolf is less pronounced. I always felt it was just a bit 'too much' in his older images. depthcharge12
If any one legion done so far has won out with rules, models, and background it would be the Sons of Horus with a close second of the iron hands. I wanted to start a SoH legion but I didn't want to bandwagon lol and their paint scheme is crazy. That said, all of their models have been solid gold so far, and I doubt that this will be the last of the SoH we will be seeing Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287926-horus-mini/page/2/#findComment-3618469 Share on other sites
