Converting a Stormraven into a Storm Eagle or Fire Raptor?

Has anyone done this and has a "how to" process to follow? I was thinking about it but wanted to know if all three models are about the same size and if there are any suggestions on what to use for the Storm Eagle's missile launchers and the Fire Raptor's turrets and forward facing gun?

I set the wings farther back and used pinning and magnets for the side turrets. I used the chapterhouse extension kit, bt I cannot in good faith recommend it. The mold is old and severely run down. It's fine for what I did, making it Carcharodons, but I intenede it to be sleek and new for my Raven Guard. The cost was very close to an  actual Fire Raptor. I only undertook it because I already had the Storm Raven. So I recommend just buying one outright from FW if you don't already have a 'Raven on hand.

The storm eagle and fire raptor are rougly 25-30% longer in the fuselage than the storm raven.  Chapterhouse stuidos make a storm raven extension kit, but it is not widely recommended by users of this board, you can see the thread for that here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283531-stormraven-chapterhouse-studios-extension-kit/?hl=+chapterhouse Similarly, a member of this board SubtleDiscord is rumored to be making a similar product, and you can see his thread Legion Rising in the WIP forum with a simple search; no idea when it will be released however.

 

For the fire raptor's guns, I have heard that the ball turrets are about the same size or smaller than golf balls.  So, if I were to scratchbuild them- I would probably either convert side armor following this guide, on a larger scale- http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com/2012/09/converting-deimos-pattern-predator.html and make the turrets using whatever plastic ball would be large enough for the task.

 

For the main gun, I'd probably try to integrate a stormlord's vulcan mega bolter into the chassis of the storm raven- removing the ramp entirely, and using plasticard and such to reinforce the seams and make ceramite plating.

 

It would be a lot easier to make a storm raven/eagle with swappable options than a raven/fire raptor.  You might want to save your money and buy a raptor down the road, and ask an opponent's permission to proxy one in the meantime.

I personnaly used a Stromraven kit+ a vendetta kit.
