Vash113
So after more than five years of buying, building, converting and painting I've finally FINISHED... for now at least, my Lost Company of Space Wolves, the Stormblade Great Company and decided to take some whole army pics. In total this is what about 6800 points of Space Wolves looks like in boxes: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/001_zps52a3c384.jpg And this is what it looks like out of the boxes: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/003_zpsac24add7.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/005_zps64a06b0d.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/006_zps1528d739.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/008_zps1221ade7.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/009_zps5a1094ae.jpg Wolf Lord Silvar Stormblade before his command tank and surrounded by his Wolf Guard: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/012_zps143566c4.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/015_zpsb380f097.jpg My Blood Angels ally detachment including Chaplain counts-as Wolf Priest leading Death Company counts-as Wulfen: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/016_zpsdc69d287.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/021_zps4710dd86.jpg A panel from the Dreadnought Drop Pod: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/020_zps97995f3d.jpg Lord Silvar up close: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/022_zps6b826f39.jpg Rune Priest in Terminator Armor: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/024_zps88191dd8.jpg Wolf Guard Battle Leader whose sword is a little keepsake from a defeated Dress Wear... I mean Dark Angel: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/025_zps850b69f4.jpg And I like to add some freehand custom icons to each tank representing it's name and identity, first up Thunder Stalker: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/036_zpse872efca.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/037_zps4bfbdb77.jpg An old campaign badge on the sponson of the Howling Wolf representing the Nimbosa V Campaign: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/042_zps5ebdd815.jpg The Company badge of the Stormblade Great Company: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/045_zps61d80160.jpg Silvar Stormblade's personal heraldry mounted on the side of his command Stormlord: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/057_zps68c2f89e.jpg The Stormlord's own image: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/058_zpsfc13d9f4.jpg Another part of my Blood Angels allied detachment, a Furioso Dreadnought. Why? Because I love the FRAG CANNON! http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/065_zps24c83c46.jpg Always gotta love adding some custom weaponry: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/067_zps047c05ff.jpg And some mediocre pics of the other tank icons, Steel Wolf: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0022_zpsb952821f.jpg Winter Wolf: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0032_zps56dec5b4.jpg Pack Runner: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0042_zpsbbba4ec4.jpg And surprisingly Blood Paw came out pretty well: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0052_zpsf660b83f.jpg The icon of the Howling Wolf: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0062_zps0a7e12fb.jpg My two variants of custom gun servitors for my Iron Priests: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0082_zpsbadece85.jpg One of my favorite weapons in the army is this Iron Priests hammer made mostly from green stuff, I'm really proud of how this came out: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0122_zps0b1b432a.jpg The Stormraven is the last part of my Blood Angels ally detachment and this is it's icon, representing Naglafar a norse mythological ship of the dead: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/Space%20Wolves/0222_zpsf9bad9c8.jpg So there we have it, now I'm sure there will be other additions. I want to replace those terrible old goblin wolves with the new Fenresian Wolves, some of the older packs need some touch-ups, especially on their company badges and I'm really growing on the Thunderwolves, might have to add a good pack of them and there's always those snazzy new Knight Titans... but those are for another day, for now this is the Stormblade Great Company, whatcha guys think? Vash113
Completely badass! Awesome to see players collecting entire companies and the like! Just awesome! Indeed, I wasn't initially going to go for such a large army but I kept being drawn to add more and more until I hit roughly Great Company size. At current there are 58 Grey Hunters, 30 Blood Claws, 20 Wolf Guard, 6 Long Fangs, 5 Scouts, 2 Iron Priests, 4 Thralls, 2 Wolf Priests, 1 Rune Priest, 4 Wolf Guard Battle Leaders, 10 Wulfen, 10 Fenresian Wolves, 4 Rhinos, 2 Dreadnoughts, 2 Land Raider Crusaders, 1 Stormraven, 1 Drop Pod, 1 Stormlord Super-Heavy and lastly 2 Wolf Lords (Same guy one in RA and one in TDA). I also have a small Skaerl Imperial Guard ally detachment I still have to paint that currently has 2 Valkyrie Gunships, 20 Veterans and a 7 man Command Squad, hopefully I'll get them painted, add a 3rd Valkyrie and some Leman Russ Exterminators sooner or later. Epic!!! Love the army overall and specially the freehands and murals! Definitely I also should make some of them on my vehicules. Thanks, I like adding those personal details to each vehicle that gives it it's own name, reputation and history. As most of these vehicles will have been around for centuries they are literally rolling reliquaries with their own list of achievements and battle honors and I like to try to represent those not just on my Space Wolf vehicles but all the vehicles I paint. Like the RP's tat's Vash113. Very nice looking army. Wish mine looked half that good. Not all of them are up to the same standard, some of the Grey Hunters are amongst my early paint-jobs, it just takes time and practice, I'm sure you'll get there! Nicely done sir, bought about 50 grey hunters at the start of the year with the plan being to start getting near GC level numbers...so far havent got round to painting a single one..... so really good to see other people having more luck with GC building!! I really have to guilt-trip myself into painting as I really do not enjoy doing it. I have a small painting area set aside and have models that sit there sometimes for months. Every time I walk to my computer I pass the partly finished models and every now and then it guilts me into doing some more work. Slow but steady I say! Most impressive. Love the knot-work on the command tank. Glad you like it, the knot-work was not as difficult as I had initially feared, getting it to look even was a pain but making a simple system of paint strokes for yourself makes it a much easier task than it looks. Woohoo! Grats on the completed army, it looks amazing Thanks! It is always awesome to see fully painted large armies, nicely done Vash. Soon I will be able to take a picture of my 4k fully painted army. Good job. /C Can't wait to see your Serpentkiller GC all laid out, going for an established GC is far more daring than I was willing to be!
