Lone Wolf Tostig

So finished watching the first season of vikings the other week. Pretty cheesy in bits but a good laugh, some good scenes etc. Pretty much my favourite scene/storyline in it was that following tostig in a few episodes, i think because I always love taking lone wolves and really like the fluff behind em, and this guy basically just embodied that

Think i may have to model a sufficient beard onto my current lone wolf in honour biggrin.png

Anyway, this was just a bit of a random 'bored with ten minutes to go at work on a friday' post, but thought id share his introductory speech which had me grinning ear to ear biggrin.png

I enjoy the series, I only wished it was picked up by a different network like HBO or STARZ so that it would be allot more graphic/violent and aimed at mature audiences.

Anyway, that scene you posted just gave me an idea of a Lone Wolf going black ops... imagine a Long Wolf who was able to avenge his pack mates, only to survive that reckoning. So now he goes solo... a hired sword/axe fighting in the name of Russ. A mercenary wolf on a hunt for a glorious death.

That's a pretty good idea. I had an idea similarly to this a while back.

Imagine a Lone Wolf who not only lost his pack, but now returns to the Fang to find that even his Wolf Lord and Great Company is gone and under new leadership, and has no one left. He takes a few Kaerls, maybe an engineer and a navigator, takes a servitor or two with him, and a guncutter (a-la Eisenhorn).

Wanders the galaxy from segmentum to segmentum, taking missions from planetary governor. Smuggle supplies to Imperial Resistance or Imperial refugees from worlds lost to Xenos or Renegades. Sits in the back of the Twist bars, hooded and cloaked save for a beard and glowing amber eyes. When battle calls, goes to the back of his Millenium Falcon of a ship, gets the servitor to weld his armor on, and goes to battle!

Sounds like a good premise for a story

Been watching on Amazon Prime awaiting the return of GoT.  I like it as well as these:

http://www.amazon.com/Vikings-Journey-New-World-HD/dp/B00DPU3GIK/ref=sr_1_8?s=instant-video&ie=UTF8&qid=1394914201&sr=1-8&keywords=vikings - apparently Ragnar's first venture West was based on an actual historical event (793 first encounter was a sacked monastery) marking the next 300 years of Norse incursions into England and points West....as well as South and East.

they came from the North and soon the legend would say that they didn't know fear

or perhaps that they 'know no fear'...... zing.

Maybe im just getting old, but i thought it wasnt too bad..the battle scenes were done fairly well, if not gore-soaked..and theres a fair amount of 'adult' orientated subject matter...without having to show penis/boobs every 5 minutes like GoT. If i had young kids, id probably wait til they were a bit older to let them watch this...just too may awkward questions about adults cuddling ;)
