Volt
I'm starting out a my first army, Night Lords soonish and will be shipping in the paint and then the models (I've got all of this down and don't need any help there). My main HQ that I'll be making when I've ruined enough basic infantry with varying paint-water ratios and am confident I can work on the purty minis, will be based on an old character I've run in RPG's. Heavily mutated Night Lords Chaos Lord, giant bat wings like a lot of people do. More unique though is his bird feet. Now, I've been scrolling through the GW and FW model pages and couldn't find any bird feet that look like they're work on a normal sized CSM model. Where the gak can I get avian feet (tridactyl preferably) that won't require trimming down from a much larger model? Greenstuff isn't a real option, all I can do with clay is tentacles, not something as complex as avian feet. I could handwave it away and just keep normal boots on him, but I'd really like to get an accurate representation of the character. (The model I intend to use for the conversion will be the body of a Warp Talon. I'll either clip off the Possessed wings and greenstuff them on to his back, greenstuff gargoyle nid wings on, or greenstuff DE wings on.) Seleucus
Have a look at Slaaneshi Deamons - especially the steeds in the Seekers and Seeker chariot. For 'daintier feet', the Deamonettes themselves may suffice. Kilofix
What about just feet with talons from Raptors / Warp Talons? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288148-bird-feet-for-28mm-csm/#findComment-3623532 Share on other sites
Volt
What about just feet with talons from Raptors / Warp Talons? http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/wiredscience/2009/11/raptortalons.jpg Neither of those ideas look anything like actual, organic Raptor feet. I already looked at Daemonettes, but they're more saurian then anything. Kaedes Nex
Perhaps try the WHFB giant birds and eagles that the elves have, or LotR. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288148-bird-feet-for-28mm-csm/#findComment-3623709 Share on other sites
Durus
I'd look for 28mm harpies. Their feet should fit sizewise and they are popular enough to be a common monster type in most RPGs. WHFB's Darkelves had Harpies, but since they have been rereleased as Finecast you can only buy them as box set. Here is a Reaper Harpy for example and the cheaper slightly different Bones version. That would be 3$ for a pair of 28mm sized bird feet.
