Rasp
Is it worth it to put a priest in a unit of Repentia? I was going to, but then realized his war hymn won't let me reroll FNP saves, they already are fearless, and they lose fleet with him in the unit. Anyone tried it? Does it work? I like the visual of it... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288172-priests-in-repentia/ Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
They don't have Hatred natively, and Rerolls to wound are useful. The Priest could also let them reroll their invulnerable, so they have a rerollable 6++ then their 3+ FnP. Losing Fleet is a pain, but you can always have the Priest assault separately. Alternatively, if you don't have him assault separately, you can use his 4++ rosarius save to tank any lucky overwatch shots if you want to keep the Mistress' power whips alive. That way, if he dies, you can suddenly re-roll your assault distance anyway :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288172-priests-in-repentia/#findComment-3623974 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Yeah, they're useful but come with drawbacks as mentioned so it's mostly a matter of personal choice and what you want from them. I think Fleet is a bit too useful to lose though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288172-priests-in-repentia/#findComment-3623975 Share on other sites
Naminé
I can't help but feel as though it starts to tack a few too many points onto the Repentia for too little gain, however, it is something I've yet to try and I think it could work, especially if you go the Rhino/Repressor route for the Repentia. I will try it out in the future though :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288172-priests-in-repentia/#findComment-3624056 Share on other sites
Rasp
Thanks for the replies. My biggest idea was to reroll FNP (I mistakenly thought FNP was treated like an invul save). But since that's off the table, I think I'll move him somewhere else. Not sure where though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288172-priests-in-repentia/#findComment-3624237 Share on other sites

Failing that, even a unit of Battle Sisters with an extra priest becomes a pretty big threat in CC. Fibonacci
I used a box of de-spikied wytches with imperial weapons for my DCA. I think they turned out OK. oreaper84
i have started collecting repentia finally after several years of playing sisters. They are imo one gee dubs best sculpts to date. It's exactaly what the should be, stripped of all honor and in agony. These and the pen engine (which falls afart when i look at it) are superb. The only priest i've ever put in the squad was jacobs as he can make them more survivable enough to justify the lack of fleet. Da Taz
If you do run a priest with them, put them in a Rhino! Protects the unit and takes care of fleet. Plus it allows the unit to get close enough for the girls to get into combat! It seems like any time I see or run repentia, the other side throws every shot they can at them! Like they think that they are that bad! I don't even use them to go after infantry! I use them to take out tanks or termies! When you go after vehicles Int. doesn't count and when you go after termies, most of the time its the same Int.! And at even a two for one cost you win! Cause if you are trading two repentia for each termie you are winning the combat! Rasp
Yeah, I have noticed that they draw a lot of (unwarranted IMO) attention. I am going to place them in a rhino. I hope it doesn't get popped, as that would be BBQ Repentia! march10k
Hey, any attention they draw away from scoring units is good attention. Besides, you should thank your opponent for helping them redeem themselves ;) The only good repentia is a dead repentia, and a survivor is a failure!
