Disruptor_fe404
It's good to see that you've got a decent variety of opponents (or their armies, anyway) where you play! Solid stuff with your Raven Guard. Not related to your battle reports per se, but is 40k popular in KL nowadays? Before I moved out of the country (2001), I could count on one hand the number of people who played regularly knew what 40k was in KL (exaggeration!). Lord Doyok
Hi Disruptor.. You've been here? Then you might knew the old dogs like Azlan, Rizal, Kai, Kuek, Richard and Din. The Catachan army I fought was Azlan's. In general, the wargaming scene here has been doing great for the past ten years. We had many new players, and many collectors. 40k is the dominant system here, but WFB (since the 8th ed) and Warmahordes also gaining much attention nowadays. So if you happened to make visit here, make sure you bring a box of 40k army with you :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288185-lord-doyoks-raven-guard-battle-log/#findComment-3634496 Share on other sites
Disruptor_fe404
Can't say I know them sorry! I was young and (much) poor(er) back then, and also didn't have a place nearby that could get in stock regularly (lived in Ampang, lots of MtG shops, nothing that stocked GW products). I was mostly curious about the wargaming scene, since I got into it much more after I left, but my friends from back then never ended up getting into it at all (even though I definitely expected some of them to). Lord Doyok
It's okay. It's not like they were the only group around back then. Those days I haven't even learned about this hobby hahaha.. Anyway.. Feel free to visit my blog sometimes if you want to have a glimpse of KL 40k scene :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288185-lord-doyoks-raven-guard-battle-log/#findComment-3634620 Share on other sites

greggles
Will do! I was really impressed by the resiliency of your army vs the latest bat rep (vs tau). That was an extremely nasty list. I also like how you set a goal indepedent of just winning. I find setting mini goals tend to make games a lot more enjoyable. The IG flyer list is insane. At least he has a chance to play with it before they nerf it completely into oblivion. (seriously doubt they will allow flyer squadrons in the new codex, nor the cheap cost of those flyers). Could be a good example of what flying MC lists we will all be dealing with soon (new nid dataslates with 7). I'm amazed at your luck with the deathwind launcher. Every game I've used it in, they just blow up the drop pod the instant they find out it has one. Great bat reps. Very exciting. (nid one was back and forth like crazy). The work you did on your scout camo cloaks is great! Lord Doyok
Thanks for the kind words I was really impressed by the resiliency of your army vs the latest bat rep (vs tau). That was an extremely nasty list. You see, the IG Flyer list TAed me, but got TAed by Tau with 2 or 3 Riptides. So what are the chances My RG to survive against Tau with 5 Riptides? But my RG did, and performed better than I imagine they would before the game begin. So yeah.. I too was impressed.I find setting mini goals tend to make games a lot more enjoyable. True.. that mini goal was what made the game enjoyable for me.Thanks again for reading my batreps. Lord Doyok
Hello to all. Here is my latest batrep. This one is a bit longer because I lump together 3 battle reports into one post. Took me a while to finish. I hope you guys enjoy it. Triple Deathmatch : The Coven, The Knights and The Much Bigger Knights Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288185-lord-doyoks-raven-guard-battle-log/#findComment-3640922 Share on other sites
greggles
When fighting the knights...did you dread get to swing vs the knight? They are both the same initiative, so even if the knight wiped the dread, you'd still have 2 str 10 attacks back at him without his invuln save to protect him. Also the overall ruling (as in tourney play) on the difficult terrain movement of the knights is that you double the highest dice roll. They are super heavy walkers, they would just obliterate any terrain they moved through. (there is no official ruling, that's the tourney rulings). Hoping 7th edition fixes this, since GW gave up on FAQ'ing things. Otherwise, nice bat reps! Lord Doyok
Thanks man.. Now that you mentioned it, I think my Dread didn't strikes back hahaha.. Noted on the tourney rules. I wonder how the TOs here would take it. Personally, I would simply play it by the book. The thing has so many advantages already compared to any normal unit at the same point cost. Thanks again :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288185-lord-doyoks-raven-guard-battle-log/#findComment-3642043 Share on other sites
