Valaskjalf
Hey guys I suppose you all know what Im going to ask... Is it possible for CSM allies with the "Daemon" USR to come in via DS through the Icons of Chaos. I have a CSM primary with Nurgle Daemon allies and an Icon and wondered if my Nurgle Oblits would be able to not scatter if they come in within 6" of my Plague Bearers. Thanks guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288227-icon-of-chaos-and-csm-allies/ Share on other sites
Noctus Cornix
No, they are designated as having the 'Mark of Nurgle' rather than being a Daemon of Nurgle' like the Chaos Space Marine Daemon Prince. However, because they have the Daemon rule, they would only scatter 1d6 rather than the usual 2. Kilofix
First, to clear something up: Some CSM units have the "Daemon" USR. Chaos Daemon units have BOTH the "Daemon" USR and the "Daemon of ABC" Special Rule where "ABC" could be Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, Tzeentch. Per CD Codex RAW, units with the "Daemon" USR can Deep Stike onto an Icon wih 1D6 Scatter and units with both "Daemon" USR and corresponding "Daemon of ABC" can Deep Strike onto an Icon with no Scatter. So I would disagree and say "Yes" Oblits with the "Daemon" USR can Deep Strike onto an Icon with 1D6 Scatter. Same for Possessed, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288227-icon-of-chaos-and-csm-allies/#findComment-3624874 Share on other sites
nurglez
however, the marks that oblits and possessed get are not daemons of abc, but marks. The chaos daemon prince is the only daemon in the csm codex that becomes a daemon of abc. So RAW, only a csm daemon prince can deep strike with no scatter if coming in near the corresponding icon. NoLifeKing
I Find this somewhat debatable topic since codex does give signs to it working both ways in the RAW. And i would interpret the RAI as allowing units with Daemon USR to deep strike on the icons with 1d6 scatter. Only 3 units could take benefit from it anyway, Oblits, DP's and Warp Talons. Besides i think its also very fluffy and more fun that way, and its not like it would allow some broken combo to be fielded as far as i see it.
