Help me decide! PLEASE! Imperial Fists or Salamanders

As the topic states,

I love the fist because of thier stubborn nature and thier history, and Dorn has some awesome fluff

They always remind me of the battle of rorks drift, with disciplined firing line and a never retreat attitude

But the salamanders were the first 40k chapter I read about, and they also have a never say die attitude and they don't retreat, and they take a far greater care in the common man. Vulkan is also awesome, being a perpetual and his rules are excellent.

I. CAN'T. DECIDE!

Wait untill book 3 is out.

Then paint a test model from each legion, to see what you like painting the most.

Write a few test lists, to try out the special units each legion can deploy.

But go for the one you like painting the most, and you like the looks of the best.

While you think and wait for book 3, you can begin to accumulate models.

I have a growing stack of mkiii and mkiv marines, a few rhinos, a sicarian, some apothecaries, a contemptor and other small assorted things,

I cant make up my mind either. Ill most likely wait for book 4 (blood angels) and book 5 (space puppies) before nailing dowb my legion.

So far i have then ranked

1. Iron Hands

2. Blood Angels

3. Sons of Horus

4. Salamanders

5. Space Wolves.

But with no models out for 3 of them, i cant make the final choice.

Ravenstongue.png .Or wait till you get Bk3 and then decide.Or wait till they have all the legions are out then put a chip of each one in a bag and pull one out and do it.Last option say hell with it and do them alltongue.png . Because at this rate that is what I will end up doingyes.gif laugh.png .

I'll outline my favourite method of choice for you:

Here's a good method of finding out what you REALLY want: Flip a coin for it. But here's the rub - the way it lands is immaterial because while it is in the air, you'll know in that split-second which option you're hoping will turn up. Choose that one and don't bother looking at the coin.

As spoken by me to a friend earlier this evening. ^_^

Trying to figure out which legion to build is worse than trying to buy a PC. You just KNOW that as soon as you get that hot new machine home, something new is going to come out that will make you sick.

I think some of the suggestions have a lot of merit. Regardless of which Legion you build, you can certainly start collecting the bulk of the troops and then play around with color schemes.

Learn to enjoy the indecision. :)

Fists are the best hands down. Rogal Dorn and his boys were the ones to defend Terra against the Chaos scum!! Salamanders are I don't know... looking for relics... not lke the great general Rogal and his fists!!!

I might be a bit biased....

Here's my thing. If you are going to spend upwards of $1000s of dollars on something, do it because you love it, not because X amount of people are or aren't. Your army will be unique because you made it. I'm doing a Dark Angels army because I'm drawn to the story and love the tragedy. Not because there are tons of people doing it out not ding it

Bingo. If you're really serious about this, then you need to accept now that it will be a labor of love. Not only money will be devoured by this project, but time, sweat, blood, and quite possibly sanity.

The Legion you choose must be the Legion closest to your heart, not just the ice cream flavor of the month.
