Son of Carnelian
They look great, but what's with the different shoulder trim colors? mccaptain 1 Back to top
Brother-Librarian Haegl
@Marshall Sampson: I think he means to denote the company with the left one, while retaining the traditional yellow-and-red colour scheme. IIRC the raven guard does something similar. I would consider picking out the rivets above the brow of the grenade-throwing marine in a metallic colour, though. That said, you have an admirably clean yellow going on there, mccaptain. Any plans for the bases yet? Forté
Like the colour choice on the plasma. Works well with the yellow. mccaptain 1 Back to top

Captain Semper
We're so used to see the IFs horribly dirtied that this clean approach is refreshing! Well done - doing yellow even in the context of eyelenses is a huge challenge for me, so this is really aweinspiring for my perspective! Great purple plasma too! ;) I think the studs on the helmet of the left-most marine beg to be picked up in gun metal! mccaptain 1 Back to top

mccaptain
Thanks for the comments! I will try out the metallic stubs and see what I think. Concerning shoulder pads: the left (black) pad denotes company. The right (red) pad marks squad color. Also, the inset color on the sarge banner will match the squad color. This honors their own heraldry and functionally will be necessary, as the list I'm building will have over 60 marines in it
NovemberIX
That is an exceptional job, such a smooth yellow along with great shading. I'm just a little jealous :) mccaptain 1 Back to top

mccaptain
I should be able to finish the painting tonight and get the decals/basing done in the next couple if days. I ordered my next squad and it arrives tomorrow. Next up are scouts and a LS Storm.

Monstra Sumus
I love that plasma glow, gives off the cherry red glow of pipes you just do not want to touch, little voice in the back of your head be damned. mccaptain 1 Back to top

Brother Sgt. Steine
Strong work Brother. Your ambition is very respectable (and yellow ). What's your technique for getting those water slide transfers to lay flat and stick? BSS mccaptain 1 Back to top
mccaptain
Decals: I am still working on those, but here's what I've got so far. I am figuring out how to use the Micro Set/Sol combo. Did it backwards this time but hope for better results next time. They still worked we'll though, despite operator error. Yet, there were still wrinkles. Here's how I fixed those. I took a very sharp razor and at a 90 degree angle lightly drug it over the surface once dry. This scraped off anything that wasn't flat. I then used what was left if the decal as a template to go back through and paint by hand over the scraped off areas.
