Death Guard and Jump packs

Recommended Posts

I'm considering putting together a unit of Death Guard Destroyers and I'm trying to decide whether to give them jump packs or not. I know they tend to specialise in attrition warfare but does that exclude the use of jump packs? Should I stick to just having them on foot?

Just check google images for death guard, there are some fun pics out there depicting them with JPs (check the wikia entry).

My Destroyers will get magnetised Jump Packs.  They cost a lot to start with, giving them the option to be run cheaper is always a good idea.  My only issue is whether I truly want to keep the MkIV bodies, or swap them out for MkIII for looks :D

I run my Destroyers and Moritat with Jump Packs. While Death Guard don't use Assault Units en masse, they definitely had Jump Packs on hand for occasions. I'm sure Mortarion would appreciate getting Destroyers into the fray ASAP. I run one squad with Hand Flamers due to Shred, but I'm thinking of swapping those for Missile Launchers to match the others.

I think there are few reason to taint them green like this - mid/post heresy, battlefield where your whole army is tinged green by the atmosphere, or if that's the colour you want to paint them.  The art is just art :)  I like the single jump packs though and their bulky look, definitely worth considering.
