Relic of Dorn
Moving back into BT page, So I was thinking about doing a leaping EC model but have decided that having my Marshal doing it with his Thunderhammer and Jump pack will look so much more epic... Inspired by... So I'm thinking that this thunder hammer should work (As long as I get rid of the horrid Death Company tear blood drops... http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/images/blood_angels_death_guard_thunder_hammer_large.jpg Does anyone have any thoughts? Marshal is going to be kitted with: Thunderhammer, Shield Eternal, Artificer Armour, and a jump pack. The_Chaplain
I think a better basis for the thunderhammer arms would be the now out of production vanguard model with the two handed power sword; simply remove the sword and swap in a hammer. No idea how you'll add the shield eternal on there unless maybe it's holstered with a length of chain. Hey if memory serves wasn't Matthew Mcconaughey's character killed and eaten about 3 seconds after that gif? ... Can't be sure, I tend to repress details from terrible movies like reign of fire. Arthanor
If what you want is a overhead swing, those arms won't work unless you want to tweak them a fair amount. I use one for my honor guard champion with thunder hammer, who can be seen on the front left here: It's more of a sideways swing. Astorath is a great model for the overhead swing. I can't find of picture of that vanguard with power sword, but I'd be interested to see. Or do you mean the old finecast/metal dude? Elenmar (post below mine) hit the nail on the head; the old vanguard with the relic blade. Elenmar
Yeah he's talking about the old vanguard sergeant with a relic blade. Edit: Doh! Ninja Chappied! But I can't see the picture he posted, so I dunno if anyone else can see it. Acebaur
I believe this is the model he is speaking of. http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2050501_99060101416_SMVanguardRelicBlade_873x627.jpg As for the Shield you could sling it on his back or move it up his arm to allow space for the hammer. Alternatively you could model a neophyte or someone holding it for him in the traditional style of "I'm too busy slaying the enemies of the Emperor to bother defending myself... Here! You do it!" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288534-batistual-crusade/#findComment-3631881 Share on other sites

Marshal_Roujakis
I did remember that the Grey Knights had a set of arms that could do the overhead attack... I just wasn't sure! :p And they do have a slick model of a Thunder Hammer in there... so maybe you could use those. Or if FW is available to you: Legion Mk. IV Power Weapon Set you could use the heavy Chainsword arms, just cut away the chainsword and attach the Power Maul, makes for a unique looking Thunder Hammer. Slipp01
The book says that the storm shield is a force field generator, so as long as you model something different to signify you spent the points. HAHA, as do I, brother...as do I. But nobody can say that he didn't have a Templarish zeal about the move. As the old vow read, Accept The Challenge, No Matter The Odds.
