Kilofix
Looking for some opinions on good configs of shooty Henchmen in a Chimera. Assume: Using Codex:Inq Total points cost is not a consideration but value for points is a consideration Looking for a flexible setup - no specific hard counter No Inquisitor in Chimera (so no Servitors) Should I use the following: Chimera HB & HB w/Psybolt 2 Jokaero 2 Melta 1 Flamer Or maybe I should also load 3 more Acolytes with Bolters in case the Melta / Flamer aren't in range? Or should I get rid of the Jokaero, keep the Chimera mobile and just get more Acolytes? What about Psykers? Should I even bother with a Crusader just in case the Chimera gets blown up or will it probably be a waste of points if he ends up just sitting in the Chimera? Thanks for the opinions. Still figuring out GK and Inqs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288568-what-are-some-good-configs-of-shooty-henchmen-in-a-chimera/ Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
I know this isn't what you're after, but probably the best Shooty unit you could get in a Chimera is a 5 man Combat Squad of 10 Paladin with 4 Psycannons, with an attached Inquisitor in TDA with a Psycannon and PML1. That's 5 rerolling relentless Psycannons using the 5 Fire points. (You could replace the Paladin with a 5 man Combat Squad of 10 Purifiers with 4 Psycannons as well, or just a 5 man Purgation Squad with 4 Psycannons) If you want henchmen, the 'budget' option would be to use 5 Warriors with either Storm Bolters or Bolters (you choice of range preference) and just pew pew them from the 5 fire points. I'd steer clear of Psykers. If you want a more durable 'melta-hunter' squad (5 Grey Hunters, 2 Melta guns, Rhino), you could consider 3 Warriors with Melta guns in the Chimera and leave it at that. Or take 5 Jokers, and use the Chimera as a Bunker for them to shoot 5 Lascannons from a turn. ;) It really depends on how you want to use the unit, and what role you want it to fill. But whatever you do, you can't really go wrong with a PML1 Inquisitor in the mix as well.
