Question about bonus attack from CCWs

okay pretty simple question here I think. If a model has two close combat weapons but also a bolter the bolter does not prevent the model from gaining the +1 attack correct? Specifically I'm thinking of honor guard models with a poowe weapon, bolt pistol and boltgun.

nope, see Chaos Space Marines or Carcharodons chapter traits for reference.

Edit: that's "nope" meaning yes you can, so long as the CC weapon does not replace the boltgun and the model is allowed to take an additional CC weapon in their rules, then they still gain the +1 attack from having two CC weapons. Basically they just sling their bolter or whatever when the going gets choppy.

There is no limit on the number of weapons a model can carry, except you can only purchase or trade so many of them in your unit entries.

Models not using a particular weapon are not concerned by its abilities, handedness etc in close combat, unless the weapons rules detail otherwise. An example would be storm shields, which specifically prevent the 2nd attack.

So lets say my vanguard model has a bolt pistol, power weapon and storm shield.

If that model assaults, can you choose between using the bolt pistol(gaining one attack and assuming the shield gets shouldered, losing you the 3+ invul) and using the shield (gaining the invul and assuming the pistol gets holstered, losing you the extra attack).

The stormshield in itself don't gain you an attack since its not a weapon( unless you're Arjac) but special issue wargear.

Also a sort of related question, does the extra attack gained by a pistol take the profile of a power weapon if the models other weapon is a power weapon.

Storm shields state that a model equipped with one can never claim the bonus attacks for multiple melee weapons.

All of a models attacks in melee use the weapon profile you choose to attack with, including any bonus attacks.  So, yes - the extra attack from a pistol will use the power weapon's profile if you are attacking with one.

Pretty much. But note that the only way to choose not to use the Storm Shield is not to buy one. So, if you buy a Power Weapon, a Lightning Claw would cost the same, and still give the same number of attacks. But that's more Tactics than Rules.
