Sviar
I think I will go ahead and pre-order the Scions box The link: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCatsLarge.jsp?catId=cat440160a&rootCatGameStyle=wh40k I haven't been keeping up with "whats new", is this our new Karskins? EDIT: I failed to notice that this is already being discussed in the roumor thread, so any mod can delete this post. Malediction
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=13800114-gws Having read through the 'What's New Today' blog it looks like the Scions are available as a special detachment for the IG in the same manner as an Inquisitorial detachment from Codex: Inquisition. Or, you can field it as an army in its own right. Either way, I really like the look of the figures. They're fantastic and I'd love some. The Taurox doesn't interest me as much. If it had longer tracks that weren't so tall it wouldn't be too bad but at the moment it looks awfully top heavy and easy to roll. One thing I do find strange is that they're releasing the Scions before the new IG Codex. I imagine most IG players are waiting to see what changes will be brought down upon their armies by the new Codex before they start adding to it. Or, you can field it as an army in its own right. Either way, I really like the look of the figures. They're fantastic and I'd love some. I don't collect Guard and I intend on getting them. The Taurox doesn't interest me as much. If it had longer tracks that weren't so tall it wouldn't be too bad but at the moment it looks awfully top heavy and easy to roll. I'm going to give CHS's 'Wheeled Chimera' conversion kit a go with the Taurox, even if it isn't perfecr, it'll be better. One thing I do find strange is that they're releasing the Scions before the new IG Codex. I imagine most IG players are waiting to see what changes will be brought down upon their armies by the new Codex before they start adding to it. All of the new models will find a place within most Guard armies, existing or new, this Codex just makes it possible to do an 'Elite' army. It'd be like if GW released a Death/Ravenwing Codex before C:DA. The bit that bothers me is the Codex is Diirect only..... GrandMagnus
Well, if I was ever to collect guard these guys would definetly serve as stormtroopers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288766-militarum-tempestus/#findComment-3636860 Share on other sites
tikhunt
So does that mean it's a sand alone from the Imperial Guard Codex? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288766-militarum-tempestus/#findComment-3636881 Share on other sites
Daemon2027
I think this is separate from the codex. I like the models (except the vehicle), and with a bit of work they will find a place in my heresy era Legions and traitor guard. AnvilofFenris
So does that mean it's a sand alone from the Imperial Guard Codex? From the description, Tempestus Scions is a stand alone Codex to allow you to field a complete Stormtrooper regiment, or take the Scions squads as part of an IG army as elites choices. The Taurox seems to be available as the Taurox Prime (Scions only) or the standard Taurox which can be interchanged with the Chimera. Raulmichile
The Taurox is simply the ugliest thing I've seen coming out of GW design studio in ages. It is simply horrible. Time passes and I simply don't like it at all. I'm not talking about efectiveness, only looks. march10k
I wouldn't say the taurox is the ugliest ever, but it's certainly not pretty! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288766-militarum-tempestus/#findComment-3637215 Share on other sites
SethsChosen
uglyness matters not when your in the back of a 100 tonne apc lol. The rox has grown on me and i think different angles help aswell. The scions are gorgeous, but gorgeously costly if you want a pure force. On the other hand, they scream 'perfect synergy' with a freeblade knight ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288766-militarum-tempestus/#findComment-3637226 Share on other sites
