AL Fluff from book 3

Assuming also they don't have a massive civil war as BL has hinted towards.

That's just people reading too much into it, again...

Sure there might be a split, but a massive civil war, where exactly do they hint at that?

Maybe not massive, but certainly destructive. After all, one of the twin Primarchs is willing to pay any price if it means achieving whatever his goals are. This includes men, superweapons and the Cabal representative. Oh, and lying to his brother.

They are both throwing away manpower, weapons and other things along the way. At the end of all Alpha Legion centric stories, most of the ones siding with the Alpha legion (including even Alpha Legionnaires in most cases) ends up dying. They throw away an entire fleet and all its resources after Nurth in Legion, all operatives are thrown away in both The Serpent Beneath and Deliverance Lost, including one of their more prominent captains even. Alpha legion can very much be seen as both wasteful and suicidal if you only read BL books...

Your so semantic I said massive you say no. What has happened in HH that isn't massive? If they follow that civil war plot through I'm sure it will be massive, and likely vague as to who won in typical AL fashion.

You can call it reading into too much, but if A and O are against each other what do you think will happen?  The author will just have them have some fisticuffs and get back to being mysterious? I don't think so, you are too conservative.

Excessus I'd understand what you're saying were it about any other entity, but the very nature of Astartes would rebel from submission. Now if Alpharius puts his brother down, I'm not saying our legion would do what the other 16 would do (maybe even the RG) and open up with bolters blazing backed up by a glorious pride roar as a swan song. What I think Yogi is implying is yes, they would stand and watch in silence as their twin-liege died, but over the following week Alpharius will find his forces decimated through dread claw malfunctions and untimely cases of hull integrity failures.

Now BL can take the quick easy way and keep the Legion betrayal between the two true brothers, but I think they will be missing out a hell of a lot of content (or a much as possible for one legion) by not tackling a veritable shadow war within the Legion.

Edit: Yogi, not Kol

I sense a splintering in the Legion. By the end of the Heresy I think they will be a fractured as the rest of the traitor Legions. If it's open warfare or a shadow war between the twins, I can't say.

So, any mention of Knights and the Alpha Legion. I just made a purchase...

Except those two hetman and John's girlfriend. When the dust settles and the flames die down, I foresee them being the only survivors of the true Alpha Legion, stranded on Eskrador with no food or water.

Then Rukshana has Johns baby who turns out to be a boss inquisitor or something.

I see what you're planning Abnett. Trying to steal my money again eh?

Hey! No Jurassic Park quotes!

I refuse to be a part of a system with such outlandish restrictions.
