Inquisitor Kravin
I did a search and it looks like a couple of years since there was a discussion of Aurellian so rather than practice threadmancy I thought I'd start a fresh one for people like me who missed it first time around. I missed Aurellian first time around due to the limited print run. I'm now cramming missed books to fill gaps in my knowledge before the Horus Heresy weekend in May because it's going to be impossible to avoid spoilers there. Just read it in one sitting and loved it. I thought the encounter between Lorgar and the Eldar Avatar was fantastic. Lots of writers can produce stories about big scary monsters being slain by big scary heroes. In fact it's been done for millenia. I love the way ADB took a stupefyingly powerful and scary monster and imbued it with such pathos and tragedy. Lorgar's compassion for it and distaste for Ingethel also helped to underline how much his pilgrimmage ultimately changed him. DarKnight
Really was a great novella, I think AD-B does the Primarch interactions the best, they really do come off like brothers. (Alpharius saluting with the Aquila was awesome) And Fulgrim got some comeuppance so that was good too.
