Blood-worm's Master
This is my first (shopping) list. I will play it almost exclusively against 40k armies. USR: Infiltrate Legion Praetor (Cataphractii) 160 w/ Paragon Blade, Power Dagger Lernaean Terminator Squad 225 Contemptor-Mortis Dreadnought 180 w/ Twin Kheres Pattern Assault Cannon Legion Tactical Squad 235 w/ +5 men, Legion Vexilla, Artificer Armour, Power Fist Legion Tactical Squad 235 w/ +5 men, Legion Vexilla, Artificer Armour, Power Fist Legion Sicaran Battle Tank 175 w/ Lascannon Sponsons Legion Heavy Support Squad 290 w/+5 men, Missile Launchers, Augury Scanner TOTAL 1500 What do you think? Edit: I did a complete overhaul (really wanted to free that elites slot for 'The Rewards of Treason' in 1750/1850 or 2000) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288928-alpha-legion-1500/ Share on other sites
infyrana
Don't forget to check out some vexilla's for your tactical squads, and artificer armour for your apothecaries if you are able to find the points. What's the power dagger on your praetor? Seems obsolete considering you have a paragon blade. Otherwise it looks like a nice start into 30k :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288928-alpha-legion-1500/#findComment-3639901 Share on other sites

Power dagger is s: user-1 ap3 rending, specialist weapon for half the price of power sword (which can be taken in addition to any other weapons). So it's basically super cheap +1A for Praetor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288928-alpha-legion-1500/#findComment-3639941 Share on other sites
Pavement Artist
Apologies if i am being supremely dense, but how is that working out as +1 attack for you? You do understand the power dagger cannot be used in conjunction with the paragon blade right? infyrana
If I am right, whilst the Praetor starts with both a Bolt Pistol and Chainsword/Combat Blade, he replaces one of them with the Paragon Blade. The Paragon Blade has the Specialist Weapon rule - as does the Power Dagger (I assume, I haven't read the rules on this item). Therefore allowing the model to have +1 for an additional CCW as both are specialist weapons. Is that correct? Pavement Artist
I thought with specialist weapons it required two of the same sort of weapon to gain the +1 attack. Such as with powerfists. I thought with specialist weapons it required two of the same sort of weapon to gain the +1 attack. Such as with powerfists. Specialist Weapon entry in Rulebook says nothing about them being the same - it's just 'both weapons have the S. W. rule'. Emperors Teeth
As absurd as the rule sounds, the OP is right:"Specialist WeaponA model fighting with this weapon does not receive +1 Attack for fighting with two weapons unless both weapons have the Specialist weapon rule."It's also not amended in the FAQ......dammit, ninja'd... by not refreshing my screen...
