Secretpaintgeek
Hi fellas, Been lurking for a while but this is my first post here :) You'll be seeing a lot more from me from now on so brace yourselves! I'll be getting my WIP thread started as soon as I get some decent pics done but thought i'd start with a quick question. Does anyone have any experience using the Daler Rowney Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic? I am considering giving it a go for some Alpha Legion and it seems like it may be perfect for getting that strange blue/green irridescent (not sure if i have spelt that right) effect. Thanks in advance guys SPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288931-pearlescent-liquid-acrylic/ Share on other sites
Secretpaintgeek
I'll take that as a no then. Smashed it on my first post :) I'll grab some and do a test mini tonight and post the results for anyone who is interested. JeffTibbetts
I'm pretty curious, if you can get it to work. I've never used it myself but I've wondered about them. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288931-pearlescent-liquid-acrylic/#findComment-3642545 Share on other sites
Lorenzen
I know mark bedford uses a pearlescent white for parts of his heresy blood angels, not sure what brand off hand though.. The blue/green of the fw alpha legion models was done by using clear blues and greens (tamiya I believe) over a metallic base if you didnt know that already Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288931-pearlescent-liquid-acrylic/#findComment-3644745 Share on other sites
Anvilarium
I know mark bedford uses a pearlescent white for parts of his heresy blood angels, not sure what brand off hand though.. The blue/green of the fw alpha legion models was done by using clear blues and greens (tamiya I believe) over a metallic base if you didnt know that already Sounds similar to FW's Iron Hands paint recipe (Pewter drybrushed over a black base, with shades of Tamiya Smoke and Tamiya Clear Yellow/Green/GW Druchii Violet over the top). I'd definitely be ineterested to see how these Daler Rowney Pearlescent inks come out!
