alphas unit steal

Recommended Posts

I second the question regarding “unique” units (you are correct that the rule does in fact state that with “unique” as the wording).

My guess is that “unique” units are the terminator armoured ones, while the rest (which are mentioned in the Legion’s general info below their legion rules) are available to be chosen.

Thats not the rule we are asking about, Lucian. Thats the Alpharius rule, what we are asking is under Rewards of Treachery, rite of war boon, which allows the Legion to take one unit “specifically allowed only to another legion (note that this does not include independent characters or unique units)”.

Edit: ninja’d by Lucian, plus I sounded a bit uptight on my part, but I don’t have the mind to reword my first line.

Edit 2:

I think I figured it out; are the terminator units “0-1” only? If so then those are the ‘unique” units, and the rest (Reavers, Palatine Blades) are up for grabs.

Yes, unique means units that are 0-1 allowance.

Also any unit that has the word unique in it's unit type so no Ancient Rylanor.

Ah right so you can only have one unit of gorgons Tec

Are kakophoni and night raptors allowed

Gorgon Terminators are not 0-1 or unique, neither are Kakophoni or Night Raptors

Pretty much all the terminator bodyguard formations are 0-1 by memory, so stick to power armour steals and you'll be fine.

As for what's the best, really consider the for that the very same stolen units benefit from the global AL trait that you chose for your force (or everything if taken alongside alphapapa).

.

Yes, unique means units that are 0-1 allowance.

Is that, "Yes, I checked with a FW guy" or "Yes, I agree"?

I only ask as 'Unique' is a specific unit type used for some units (not 0-1).

In fact where are people getting 0-1 for any of the legion specific units? I've just looked through Betrayal and Massacre and none of them have 0-1 (only artillery squadron)

Pretty much all the terminator bodyguard formations are 0-1 by memory, so stick to power armour steals and you'll be fine.

Sorry Kais, they aren't. Justaerin, Deathshroud and Firedrakes are elites and can also be taken instead of a command squad. Phoenix and Gorgon are just elites.

None are unique or 0-1. So with the first three you could have up to seven squads and four squads with the last two. Obviously that is with the Battles in the Age of Darkness force organisation and no RoW.

Edit: The above number of squads is in relation to the parent legion and not the Alphas.
