Adra'Melek
Just trying to steal credit ;) And also forgot Dracos. Edit: Oh and regarding painting, I think I would do them in the Alpha scheme as though they had nicked the equipment rather than pretending to be another Legion. But that's me and mainly because I like an army wide paint scheme. Tenebris
Hmm I would love to have such a rule for 40k Alpha Legion. Imagine Black Knights, Centurions, TH/SS Terminators, Ironclad Dreadnoughts as a single unit for the CSM elite slot. Now that would be really nice. Iron Father Ferrum
. . . Dev Cents paired with Oblitz? The Alphas would become the single most popular Legion ever. hisdudeness
My guess is that they are talking about the legion specific units, as in unique to each legion. Vardus
My guess is that they are talking about the legion specific units, as in unique to each legion. Not having the exact wording for the XX legion RoW and going off rumour and hearsay, that would make no sense in having the rule. If the Legion specific units are out of bounds, as then you are left with the Crusade Army list and a redundant rule. Edit: Or are you referring to the two posts above yours referencing a desire of having such a rule for 40k Alphas? Plague Angel
I'd figure that "Unique Units" refers to Special Characters which are not Independent Characters (Dreadnoughts and Vehicle Pilots, for instance). Those usually have "Unique" somewhere in their profile. Yeah, it's this. There may only be one on the Heresy lists, but there are more examples in 40k codices. Mephiston, for example. Or character Dreadnoughts. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288940-alphas-unit-steal/page/2/#findComment-3640761 Share on other sites
Vincec79
I read it as this as well, else there would be little point to the rule apart from being able to add an additional Troop/Fast Attack/Heavy Support to your force as an Elite and being able to paint it in another scheme. The rule reads as "a single Legion specific unit normally allowed to another Space Marine Legion" and the only units that are Legion specific units are your Red Butchers, Rampagers, Justaerin, Reavers, etc The wording doesn't help as it uses "unique" in lower case which doesn't make you think of Unique as in the rule applied to special characters, but just unique as in specific to. As the "Unique" wording only appears on special characters in the Unit Composition Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288940-alphas-unit-steal/page/2/#findComment-3640828 Share on other sites
hisdudeness
We'll at is all we need. Legion specific are units that say they can only be used in an army list of that legion, so butcher and such are the targets..which doesn't make much sense to me.
