Space wolves, mk 5-6 armour, and that studded shoulder pad.

Supposedly loyalist space marines with corvus armour generally wear a studded shoulder pad on their left shoulder in remembrance of the sacrifices made in the Horus heresy (or some such). I'm just wondering how that plays out for wolves.

Firstly, do we follow this practice, and if so, how rigidly? Would it always be the left shoulder? Would we have partially studded pads (e.g. perhaps have a couple of rows of studs on the bottom with a great company marking above it? Would we paint that shoulder pad in great company colours?

When we have one shoulder pad covered in studs, where would the pack markings and great company markings go? Would we just not have a great company marking or is this a big no no? Would the great company marking go on a knee pad or something (this is harder to do with corvus armour which lacks kneepads!!) or perhaps the great company marking would go on the free shoulder pad and the pack marking would have to be shoehorned in elsewhere?

Terminators seem to put their GC marking on their right shoulder pad, with pack markings on a kneepad. Perhaps this is the answer then?

My suspicion is that because we're wolves, we're not too rigid about these things. I plan on giving all my Mk 5 and 6 marines one shoulder pad that is at least partially studded, and I will ensure that every marine has pack markings to avoid confusion, but the occasional marine may lack great company markings (though I will do my best to put it somewhere on their armour). I imagine that some of my wolves will use their right shoulder pads for pack markings, while others will use their pads for their great company mark.

Well honestly nobody is particularly rigid about this convention. It only really applies to whole suits and in most cases loyalist armor is a mix of various armor types substituted on an as-needed basis.

Where studded pads are used the general convention is that the chapter symbol goes on the right shoulder and squad markings are placed on one of the knee pads where applicable, the same goes for the Space Wolves though again the convention is not exactly rigid.

Or just put the studded pads on the right. If you use transfers, your company symbol could be facing backwards on a right shoulder pad (somewhat company dependent), and trying to flip a transfer to its mirror image doesn't sound like fun.
