Kol Saresk
Well for the Wolves, its mostly fan speculation based on using the 13th Company as seen in the Ragnar series as a basis. Even though there are Traitors like Talos who have resisted Chaos for just as *long. *Time being meaningless in the warp. Wade Garrett
The idea of imperial politics and power interests me and this kind of speculation perks me up, I always pondered how would Vulkan have handled the Interex rather than Horus....Instead of negotiating with them over Murder like the Warmaster, the Drake would have torched them all as soon as he caught wind of how xenos tainted they were. Then he would have traveled to their homeworld and burned every man, woman, and child on it too. Then he'd have the audacity to wag a finger at Curze and Angron and brag about how compassionate he is, because as of Promethean Sun Vulkan has the dubious honor of being the biggest hypocrite among the Eighteen Sires. Greyall
Almost every 'good' character in the series is a hypocrite. Because it's an accepted practice to burn human populations who are irredeemable. In Vulkan's defense, though, he did really hard to liberate them before he found the shrine... Jareddm
I think Curze hammered home that point enough times in Vulkan Lives. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289051-salamanders-purpose/page/2/#findComment-3643270 Share on other sites

Save the humans until they say no to the Imperium or yes to the xenos. Then kill them with fire and death. DarKnight
Their purpose? Kill xenos, help conquer the galaxy. People get waaay to hung up on each Legion having some specialist role. They're armies of conquest first and foremost. They're armies of conquest first and foremost. To paraphrase Al Murray I think it's the Brit aspect of the game. We named all our fighting forces to their role. We sent the Desert Rat's to fight in the desert and the Royal Artillery for using artillery. We got the King's Guard for guarding the King, the Queen's Guard for guarding the Queen, the Scot's Guard for guarding the Scot's and the Welsh Guard for guarding the coal.
