Any interest in a New UK Indy campaign weekend?

I hope this isn't breaching any forum rules!

I'm trying to gauge interest from fellow Heresy era gamers in an independent campaign weekend being run in the North of England ( nothing specific in place yet, besides wouldn't want to breach advertising rules etc) but if there's no interest then I won't go to the hassle of arranging everything!

It would use my own campaign system developed for a few weekends already and be set in an as yet undetermined part of the age of darkness so a battle could be conceived which involved every legion potentially open to certain xenos races too. No special characters are allowed do hopefully that evens out he disparity between the Legiones which have books already (at least a little bit!)

Is this the sort of thing people would be interested in actually attending or am I more likely wasting my time?

It'd be good to meet some Heresy gamers in the North, there seems to be a strong contingent in the Midlands & London. I'm more of a collector than gamer but slowly getting a force painted up to start gaming with. Might be worth organising a meet & greet. You going to the Weekender? Could discuss there.

Sounds interesting. What would you do for the legions without books? Assuming the Prospero book will be out by the time of this (meaning all traitor legions will be covered), you could extrapolate "temporary" Legion rules from their 40k Chapter Tactics.

Weve got a largeish group here missing the old Tempus Fugitives events so would definitely be interested, Too Far up north and No Special Characters would be turn offs though.

In fact ive seen firsthand what a dropoff in numbers too far north or south causes, some folks are just lazy :/ Midlands, around Nottingham or Derby is usually best.

Yea Even though i am south getting to a heresy game would be worth it. Where do guys from the UK mostly hear about the heresy events happening? I can only find one at the end of this month bar the heresy weekender. Any hints would be great!

Agree with others though purhaps no unique characters would be a bit far. kind of takes a nice flavour from  a campagin.

Right, back at a proper computer again so I can reply in more depth

Unfortunatley, I cannot make it to the weekender this year. I'll be glued to twitter hoping for updates though!

I doubt the Prospero book will be out in time. I'll create some 'house rules' to give the other legions some flavour to their Legionnes Astartes rules, but won't give them any unique units etc

I've disallowed special characters at all of my campaign weekends sofar and they seem to be a success. The thinking is manifold:

-A campaign weekend is primarily an excersise in building a narrative between a group of players. It's crazy to think that someone like Abaddon could be running around on multiple battlefields at once

-Likewise, Abaddon is the first captain of the Warmaster's own legion, why would he be involved in every skirmish throughout the war?

-As the campaign would be set within a new chapter of the Age of Darkness (post Calth, pre Terra) only certain cahracters would have cause to be involved in it. The way around this is that I, as the organiser would supply all the special characters whow ould actualy be involved in the campaign. theywould be handed out to address balance issues in matchups, and as the narrative demands. They may even form the basis of a scenario (perhaps Fabius has captured Alexis Pollux and if the loyalist forces beat the traitors in the next battle, they unlock Pollux to be used by one of their commanders etc)

With regard to location, if Irun it, it will be i nthe North West Gaming Centre in Stockport

If its the sort of thing people will actually want to attend, I'd be happy to put the work in.

A few questions:

Would there be an age limit?

How long (hours per day) would it be?

Size of armys (I only have a small one)?

How far north (Roughly)?

No age limit but there will be alcohol served so bear that in mind

Would be 9-6 ish both days with the option to stay much later day 1 for a bigger game in the evening

Army sizes will vary as there'll be a few scenarios (some singles , some doubles, some scouting etc) but biggest size would likely be 2k

In Stockport ( near Manchester)

I am one of those who mourns the collapse of the Tempus Fugitive events so I would love a new indie event to be set up. I live in Chester so an event in Stockport I would more than likely attend given time off from work ect.

I would say if you're willimg to start small, put the effort in and ran a fun event then people would come again and again.

But I for one would be very interested.
