teblin
Hey all, I bought two DC kits about 6 months ago but haven't created anything yet (apart from using a couple of bits and a torso for something non-BA related), I'm hesitant to actually make DC because they're such nice sculpts that would make great veterans or captains (although I'm not sure I really need them). Maybe I should just distribute the parts thinly amongst normal Marines? But I've already built some Tacs and ASMs without any fancy bits, so there wouldn't be much continuity. Res Ipsa Loquitur
I used regular bits on my rank and file so my DC kits were used to i) build Vanguards and Honour Guard; and ii) bling Sergeants.
GrunTeufel
I am planning on buying a third box just for the extra bits. The first kit I've made a 5 man DC with jump packs. I kitbashed the second kit with an assault marine box. The new kits are brilliant. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/2014-04-07093252_zpsa97329e8.jpg
micahwc
I just turned an original death company kit into a unit of sternguard with bolters in one hand and combat knives in the other to represent their extra attack. I think you could easily model them as vanguard vets, honor guard, assault marines, death company, or sternguard if you had some bolters laying around. I made a librarian in power armor with one, as well as a sanguinary priest and a counts as corbulo. Really any of the special characters could be converted from death company and sanguinary guard bits.

My DC come from the standard Tactical / Assault Marine boxsets.
Tabgoi
I am still in the old third edition mindset, MOAR DC! But since I have like 40 of the the bits are going into another SP, a few techmarine mash ups (I have a butt load of mechanum chest pieces and shoulder pads from vehicle kits), another Libby, and I am going to use some to make some Vanguard Veterans who will likely never see a table top. But I don't see the point in buying a box of assault Marines when a box of DC or Sang guard costs the same.
