Valkyrion
The premise: Abyssal Crusade chapter has several marines on the cusp of mutation/possession/corruption etc that is having a glorious last stand but visible signs of their corruption is beginning to show. How do I do it? I'd be using loyalist rules (Iron Hands for Nurgle, Blood Angels for Khorne, Space Wolves for Slaanesh, Grey Knights for Tzeentch) and ideally want to use loyalist parts. I was thinking of using just Possessed shoulder pads as I don't want them looking too chaosy, but it's 'unrealistic' to expect all mutation just to show through the shoulders. The possessed bodies and legs seem too much though. Any ideas? Valkyrion
As nice as that is, it's far too technical for my limited modelling skills! Disciple of Caliban Sgt
Valkyrion, I wanted to do something similar before the Crimson Slaughter supplement came out. My plan had been to use Blood Angels Rules ( I like jump packs) and paint them in Crimson Slaughter Red and golds. Start with standard marks of armor and then like you said slowly convert some models with a bit of mutation here and there and then have it kind of "blend" into the full DV chaos kits. With the new supplement this makes the plan a bit harder however I think it can still work I just need to a.) get the supplement and b.) start painting. While techinally I like your idea using each codex to represent each god differently I think it is way too much of a handful and honestly I don't think it would be a whole lot of fun to play against simply for one reason. Complexity. Trying to keep track of which units are what codex and playing with what rules would be tough for you and a nightmare for me. Now I'm not a WAAC or tourney player so I don't use more than "normal" allies. That being guard and Marines etc. otherwise I don't, but then again that is just me. Now if you did one or two codeci at a time that would be a lot easier to follow play wise I think. Obviously the rule of cool outweighs all and truly your idea sounds pretty awesome to me just don't forget complexity for your opponent. Good luck and tell us what you decide and what works for you.
