Fellblade

Personally if I had the cash I would but a DA upgrade sprue and the Forgeworld kit.

I was thinking of getting and converting a Baneblade to match, but after seeing the official I know I could not top it.

Plus the extra cannon barrel and the quad Lascannons will be a pain to get right.

While the Glaive has been issued to all eighteen Legiones Astartes in limited quantities, the Salamanders and Dark Angels have long been noted to field Glaives as a matter of course; the XVIIIth Legion’s artifice is more than sufficient to maintain and replicate the arcane Volkite technology, while the provenance and honour of the Ist Legion means that their war matériel and weaponry are ancient indeed.

That fluff bit kinda opens up to using them in 40k...  But it is still listed in the HH section not in the 40k section.

The Glaive and the Fellblade are different, the Fellblade has rules for both 30K and 40K.

The Glaive is 30K only.

Well you could go with what I took for my sisters... a stormlord.

The transport option is what I like the best.... 30 models, counts as an assault vehicle, 20 models can fire from the deck.

Won't be quite as nasty as it would be with sisters but still a deathwing battle wagon could be fun.

If you went Greenwing, mounting the BoD inside gives you a 6 inch bubble around a baneblade plus all the dudes inside.

Only down side is you can't make GW relentless like you can sisters.

The latest Imperial Armour book

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Armour_Books/IMPERIAL_ARMOUR_VOLUME_TWO_SECOND_EDITION.html

Has the Fellblade and two more super heavies.

Also has the most upto date (for now) rules for 40k Sicarian, Mortis Dreads, Contemptors, Storm Eagles, Fire Raptors, Predator Executioners and lots more.

It's my favourite book ATM.

Ill just leave this here....

And note that all the parts for this beauty are available to buy through ebay.

Although nice, that has no official rules. It is not a Fellblade.

Unfortunately no Legion Glaive.

The Super Heavies Tanks are

Fellblade

Cerberus

Typhon

The first is Baneblade sized, the other two are based on the Spartan Chassis (also included).

  • 2 weeks later...

Got the book thursday and had a good look through. have to admit 1 of the better fw books we bought. going to get a contemptor for my DW (ccw, grviton gun and missile system) for fire support and a sicaran and fell blade for my GW. think the fell blade might be overkill (surprised baout the armour values though, thought it would compare to the sicaran) b ut think it fits the fluff of the 1st legion and look good painted up in our colours.

very pleased all round!
